I receive periodic emails from Fantasy Junction. Their recent email lists a Bora as incoming so you may want to call them.

I congratulate you all for your targeting a Maserati Bora. I looked at several offers on the internet but I personally have not found a good opportunity, the price is very high, or the car is not perfect. Keep in touch

As is often the case, a #1 or #2 Porsche 930 sells at auction for record price; now every owner of a 930 seeks to sell in the same price neighborhood.

All of the cars I've seen and have been offered are weak and have many needs. I'd rather spend the extra $25k up front and get the good one. Best money you could spend.

The market for the most part is established and at a peak. ill wait to find the right car. It will come.
Somebody will have had their fun and move on to something else.

Did you see the one for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club? Looks like a strong car - euro spec.

Saw that. Looks to be a very nice car with an interesting history. Seems like more a car for a collection than a driver for me. Too expensive.

Don't see the value in the number they're asking for it given the interior/exterior, color change, etc... I like it though.

They market themselves as "wholesale" but if the car is anything other than a rusty shell they're asking for top dollar.

But if they can sell them more power to them.

Right now there is a car buy frenzy on older italians. Anything sells and rationales from suckers with money to burn are out the window.
Those who have been around have seen this played before with cars or other types of assets.
When the cycle comes round, these questionable cars bought by uniformed speculators will be flooding the market.
that trend will likely go on as long as easy money is in play

The car was purchased (by Gullwing)as a part of a very sad health distressed situation. There were multiple cars involved. Even Gullwing paid a lot IMHO for THAT car. So maybe Boras are finally moving higher on a more permanent basis. This purchase was a terrible speculation move but if they buyer really wanted one and is going to invest the effort needed to straighten the car out they will have a very good car in the end. Just not one done inexpensively.

A nice "looking" car which in reality will require a fair amount of work can end up being damn expensive as well if you pay a premium just because it "looked nice".

I can find Boras like that far more easily than ones which have been solidly gone though. That's true for most Maseratis because they been so far behind Ferrari value wise for many years and the cars just haven't had the investment put into them. There are still a lot of Lamborghinis around like that as well.

Either that or their owners don't see much more appreciation coming! FJ is odd sometimes. They tend to have a lot of similar cars on consignment at any one time. They currently have 5 Austin Healeys, three Brabham formula cars, they recently had 2 Alfa TZs, etc. I think if I were a consignor I'd want to have the only one of a particular model for sale. On the other hand, maybe some owners think they'll benefit from the straight-up comparison between two or more similar cars.

In my (and many other's opinions) the Bora is one of the most underrated Italian supercars of the 70's if not of the last 4 decades. Its no wonder the values and demand has begun to take off due to the rarity of the model and resurgence of the Trident Marque. I'm happy to see it, partly because I own one, but mainly because it's deserved.

There's no question that this is a great time to sell Boras for long term owners so that like the Austin Healeys (also hot, what isn't?) could be the case. We're really saying the same thing.

I did speak to Bruce a couple weeks ago about these cars. None were current drivers. They all had some needs. They will either be addressed or offered as is with disclosure.

Not sure that was what I was up for. I already have projects. Really am looking for a turn key runner with known qualities.

    We'll see

I'm not the OP, but am also looking for a Bora. My answer to that question is "anything reasonable given the condition."

So, why do you ask? Do you have one for sale?
