I've thought it over. I may get another Mondial.

Although it may sound weird, this is what I really would like:

A Euro Mondial t coupe, no sunroof, papers in order, in dark grey (platinum?) or dark green.

I am going for subtle here.
    Will wait for right car.

    Many thanks.

Many thanks - the thing that is weird and a bit disconcerting is that it seems to have a chrome trim on the windscreen. Hmmmmmm.

Need to find out what the DOT/EPA requires now to bring these over. There **used** to be a rumour that folks got a one car exemption.

Russ, sounds like you need to make 'WilyB' an offer ! lol
This is the only 'Gray' Mondial t Coupe in America ...

Looks like you will have to go across the pond to find one that is Euro 'Grey'.
    All the best.

The car in the first picture is 96147 - last seen for sale at Volkmar Spielmann of Hanau. Maybe call them and see if they know where it went, and if the current owner is willing to part with it. At the time of sale it had 42,073 KM, and they were asking €35,000.

Never tried but I'd like to know.

Here's a document from the NHTSA as of October 1, 2011. Note sure what VSA 74 means.

That car is owned by a guy named Leo, I think from MA, he bought it not too long before the Concorso. The car appeared to be very well sorted and in fantastic cosmetic shape -- a really nice example. He used to post on F-chat but I think he moved to Hong Kong... don't know if he's around.

An aside: In the second photo background you can see Peter K's '78 lowbody Countach and, next to it, his P250. Both are very early production examples. The Urraco wheels have a rough cast finish, and when I asked Peter about it, he said they were prototype wheels. I think that car is S/N 4 or something. As a further aside, the Urraco is remarkably similar to a Mondial when you're sitting in the driver's seat -- In other words, a very sensible design :)

The gray goes very well with the black.
