I am in the market for a F430 which will be my first Ferrari. I have researched the forum regarding things to probe during my search such as exhaust manifolds, headers, F1 clutch wear, etc. Their seems to be a number of cars to choose from.

One of the cars I am looking at has 6.5k miles and is advertised with 11% clutch wear. However the service records show 27% wear. The dealer claims they recently ran the test that shows 11%.
Any advice on how I resolve this to get the accurate information?

Also it seems like once these cars hit 10k miles the price decreases. Should I buy one with 10-11k miles vs. one with 5-7k miles?

If you are going to truly keep a long time maybe it is best to go lower miles but if you are not going to do that 10-11k car may be better. Seems like prices drop a lot over 10k and do you want to be the one who pays the premium and loses more? If you drive it a lot you will lose a lot more buying lower to start. That clutch question will open up a can of worms.

Opinion--the measurement system is not that precise, so 10 or 20 may be the same, just two measurements by two people.......

Before I recently bought my car I entered data for every F430 I could find for sale and generated a price model which suggests on average the value of a 430 drops about 90 cents per mile below 30K miles., all other things being equal. In other words adjust for accessories, condition, etc.

    Hope this helps.

Was it linear or did you find the miles below 10k to be more than 90 cents per mile.

52,000 miles on a 2009. That is the highest I've ever seen. Many 2009 F430 spiders in the US are under 5,000 miles.

With taxes in UK I bet new Ferrari's are more money to begin with than an exact same (near as possible rhd) US model.
