I am selling my '78 308 GTS. 2007 engine out service, Electromotive ignition, hi torq starter, 16" wheels, Tubi exhaust, lots more. Listed in ferrariads.com. I'm located in Northern NJ, but it's easy to ship these anywhere (I bought my 328 in Arkansas and had it shipped up last spring). If interested, PM me and I can provide more information. The car runs great, looks great and is well within his budget.

Last carbed 308 was made in Sept 1980 of thirty plus units. I've corresponded with owners with carbed cars with s/n a hundred+ above my GTBi. The changeover to injected 308 engines began in 1979 with the Mondials.

In the days before computerized production aids, Ferrari did not make abrupt production transitions. It would be interesting to know more about the process of how they used up parts and if they built to customers or to spec. "Hey Tony, I just found another box of carburetors."

    Paul,
Interesting, since my 308 was made in Sept.1980 and is injected...mine must be one of the first injected models made. How could I find out what number it is??

My carbed '79 GTS (29293) has the later seats. I have been trying to ascertain if these were original or swapped somewhere down the road?

By the way, interesting side by side comparison -- notice the difference in looks between the 14" wheels on Rico's car and the 16" wheels on mine.

    Just to support the opinion that I'm a prick, here's my not-for-sale 308. :p Sorry that I don't have any mini-pine-trees.
    Oh, BTW, it's a '79 308GTB (#28133) originally delivered to Germany).

Yes but you can only use 8 at a time with the 308, 12 at once is much better :)

I'm kindof enjoying this "debt free" and "cash only mode" I'm in....

But I'm still working (Shell Labs, now) so maybe the tide will turn soon!

If I paint my red one the OEM dark blue, then I'll have two blue ones (although different shades) and DEFINATELY need the Boxer, the have the obligitory red one!

I shave a crazy man every morning!

It'd be nice, to add a 'rare' 1976 512 into the mix!

I could start hassling Goodyear, for the correct tires! LOL!
They just LOVE air freighting those V rated FULDAS, from Germany....

A F-Chat member asked about the Euro bumpers on a 308. The picture I posted above gives a look, if a small look, at the rear bumper. Here's a look at the front.

Why a late 70's 308??? do you want a spyder. If you go for 76-77 berlinetta, you could have a carb'd, NON cat car with about 35 more horsepower, both very good things. It is not just the cats, the cams are stronger, jetting and timing different too. Lord knows what aditional heavy stuff they heaped on later cars.

    ??
