Anybody know of some good ones in this area. I fould one north of Boston, but the price seems too high. They will come down to 56K, but it hasnt had its 30K service. I prefer red with tan.
    Thanks Mike

My $.02 - you can find nice 348s starting with a "3". A very nice, low mileage, no stories 1990-91 348 ts or tb should be in the low $40k range; add $5-$6k for a 1992-93 Series Speciale version. Higher mileage 355s can now be had in the low $60k range, so keep that in mind too.

    vty,

Almost every 348 I have looked at has been in the 52K to 60K range. I talked to John Tirrell at Independent ferrari service, and he said 50K is too much. But right now thats what is on the market. BTW he has a 348 in his shop with 75K miles and has never been serviced. No belts, nothing.

40's for a clean 92 348? I was hunting for almost a year, there was NOTHING in that range worth buying. seats were a mess, everything was a mess pretty much. anything under 50k wasn't worth looking at.
Maybe things changed now. I'd pay extra for a nice, clean example of ANY model F Car. Bottom feeder models.....should be left alone

Naw, things haven't changed. I finished my search in October of last year after personally looking at cars in LA, Silicon Valley, Portland OR, Denver, Ohio, (when I was at those locations for my job) and locally here in the NE. Both private sale and dealers. I found out about the same as you.
I ended up buying a well-serviced, well documented '92 from F40 Motorsports in CT, who I would recommend without hesitation. Unfortunately, they don't have any F-cars right now.

30K miles - just north of $50K. The car had some very minor cosmetic detail issues which took me about a week and less than $250 to clean up, but mechanically, the car is excellent. No stories, all original, clean, all the right services and stamps at the appropriate times. It just has the look of 30,000 mile car that had been treated right.
BTW, I'm also an ex-Cobra junkie; I remember your name from FFCobra.com and ClubCobra. Had (actually, still have) an '84 ERA with a stout, unmolested side-oiler with all the right stuff.

Nice looking Cobra. I have built 10 FFR Cobras. I am a parts vendor on both of those forums. I still have my Cobra and probably always will. A lot of bang for the buck with those cars.

nice red/tan low miles, and serviced is going to cost you high 40s (89 -92) to 55ish(93+). No matter what John Tirrell says.

    In 2000 I bought a 90 Tb with 8.5 k miles for 49,500.00 car was originally
going for $59,000 I spent 30 days negotiating. Then settled for 51,000 then I had John Tirrell look at it and we were able to persuade them to go to 49,500.00 . Keep looking and when you find the right negotiate. Ive seen 348's in the mid to high 40's. Im sure can be had for 40-42. good luck

    2 scenarios here:

1 ) You buy from a dealer - no way you will get a deal !!

    2) You buy from an individual . I could see someone in the Northeast or anyplace else that has a real winter
dropping their asking price on a car they were trying to sell from November - February .
They would drop the price even more if they were desperate to sell it .
If this person was to sell it to a dealer they would probably have to give it up for as little as 60 % of the retail value.
Same deal for the prime driving months , if someone is desperate to sell a car you as a smart buyer can
    get a deal .

I gotta geuss that there is no real reason to buy from a dealer? They arent going to give any kind of warrenty in one of these anyways, Right? Its funny, I have sent e-mails to several (maybe 20 or more) people selling cars with almost no return e-mail. Must not be too intereted in selling.

Yes you will pay a premium if you go through a dealer.
However a good reputable dealer will not sell you a crap car either .
The good dealer would take care of any major issues before the sale .
I emphasize the word "good reputable dealer"

    Maybe a little piece of mind guaranty :-}

If you buy from a dealer in MA, they are required by law to warranty the car for 30-90 days depending on mileage. And...yes, if you buy from a reputable dealer they should sell a "stand-up" car. I'd say try and work an engine-out service into the price if it hasn't just been done.
