Foreign Cars Italia of Greensboro is asking $59,900 for a 1988 GTS, which
is $9,300 more than NADA "High Retail" for a near-perfect car.
    Does anyone know of a low-mileage, extra-clean, mechanically-excellent
328 GTS or GTB out there, within a 500-mile radius of Boone, NC?
Greatly prefer red with tan seats, and mileage preferably not over 15,000.

Donald, I have my '86 328 GTS for sale at the link below on FerrariAds.com. I have owned it for just over 3 years, and it's been a great car. It is in excellent condition inside and out. I purchased the car from Sport Auto in Summerfield, NC, and they have done all of my service on the car including the oil changes every 6 months. I have the 15k and 30k services documented. My car has black interior, and the mileage is a good bit higher than what you are looking for; however, there are probably several people on F-chat that could vouch for the condition and history of my car (including the mechanic at Sport Auto). I live in Huntersville, NC which is only about 1.5 hours away. I'm asking $46,500, but I am negotiable. Let me know if you'd like more detailed photos. My contact info is in the ad.

    Donald -

His car is indeed excellent. It'd be nice to keep it in the Fchat/Carolinas community. Go have a look.

    Donald,

Don't get too wrapped up over the mileage. I am the self proclaimed 328 expert around the area ( others may argue this =-)), but I have driven several ( at least 25 of them ) 328s in my time and you CAN'T go by the odometer.

Not to fan that old unhooking the odometer fire again, the truth is you must take each car and look at it independent of the miles on the clock. My personal car has 44k miles and it will out drive cars with half that in terms of looks, reliability, and driving. You really owe it to yourself to consider all the good cars that are out there and not get to married on the miles. I would take a higher mile car over a garage queen any day.

In the end only you can decide, but a serviced car, with all the history is really the only car to consider. Ask around and you will here the same things from other 328 owners. You want a car with service history and a car that is driven regularly if you intend to drive it. Now if your goal is a show car that you will tow to concours and only drive a few hundred miles each year....disregard all I said above =-)
