Interesting, I never saw it advertised anywhere other than Hawkeye's thread that he was considering selling the car a couple of months ago. I never understand the weekly drops...it trains people to just wait a week.
Not true, there are pictures on Jon's website of the car being taken apart and having a glass out repaint. Perhaps the confusion is Jon didn't paint the car, he took it apart and sub'ed out the painting. If u Google SN 05480 u will see it come up on both jons web site and the body / paint guys web site -- car was originally yellow and it was stripped and painted back to its original Rosso Rubino
I see now, paint and interior restoration. I was going by what Chad said in his thread. Thanks for the clarification. Well bought.
Extremely well bought! I called the dealership this morning with the intention of striking a deal and figuring out how to pay for it later!!!
I know that car and it's history. Can't believe that price was right. The owner wanted $365,000 before he traded it in on a new Ferrari. Amazing buy if it was offered at $271,000.
Wondering if someone here bought the 73 Dino at MAG in Columbus? I talked to them today and offered to buy the car if the deal did not go through.
Hi Ken - I bought 05480 at MAG but unless I'm missing something I don't expect any issues with the deal as it's been paid for and paperwork completed. I saw the car on their site a few months ago but they just recently dropped the price to a level which I felt was very attractive so it was a bit hard to resist given the quality of the car. I had followed OMGJON's thread on the car's restoration and had also seen the car at Gooding in 2010/2011 when it was sold as part of Benny Caiola's collection. 05480 will join some older siblings (250 GT/E #4533 and #3215 and other mostly 60s Italian cars) in my garage.
