Looking for a nice digital watch, usable for running

    By mutual agreement, I didn't get my dad anything for Christmas this year. But we didn't say anything about _after_ Christmas...

    Anyway, I want to get him a nice watch. He always goes around wearing these cheap Casios or Timexes.

    The one catch is, he won't wear it unless he can use it for running. So, it needs to be something digital, that has at least a timer. It doesn't need a lap timer, just the ordinary start/stop/reset functionality. But, I don't want to get him something ordinary.

    So, can anyone recommend a classy-but-functional digital watch? I found Nixon watches through a Google search, but they try a little bit too hard to be hip for my taste. Any other ideas?

    have you considered a Polar heart rate monitor?

    It comes with a Tx strap, and Rx built into the watch so he can monitor his heart rate while running... its digital, and does have some def quality features
