    After a couple years of prodding, a good friend of mine is finally ready! He wants a 6-speed 355 Spider in red/beige, and ideally, he wants to find one in the northeast so he can go look at it before buying.

    And yes, I'm going to coach him so he gets a PPI, full service history, full check by a mechanic, etc.

    Know of any in or around the NY area? I'd greatly appreciate any leads on finding a good car.

    I just bought a '99 red/tan spider in FL and got it delivered this week to CT. Looked all around the NE and couldnt find anything other than a yellow spider in NJ that had questionable service history. Of the ones that I found most decent ones were in warm weather states. For what your going to spend on the car I think its worth a $300 plane ticket and a hotel even if you have to make a few trips till you find what you want. Just my .02 cents

    you may have seen it already, but there's a red/tan 1995 spider in CA for $76K. seems like a good deal. for that price you can ship over here and still have done well money-wise.

    I am hoping that the Fchat community might have the inside line on a car that my friend overlooked out on the dealer websites.

    I have a Red Tan 355 Spider in San Diego I have been toying with the idea of selling for several years but never came around to. I just hardly ever drive it anymore. Great car with all the little things taken care of, new headers, repaired top switch etc. Major done a couple years ago and very few miles since. Has around 12k miles new rear tires and fronts are still fine. There is Bobileff Motors here in San Diego to do a realistic PPI if you want. I will be taking over there soon anyway as my alternator needs service. They are well respected by other members on the chat group. Would consider vintage race car in trade. Price? What is market?
