That's pretty much it. 4 rims preferred, but if you have an individual rim, Carl (For Melbourne folks) or I would be happy to hear from you. It is an Australian delivered car, so for US owners, I would need to see the spoke colours as the US TRXs had two choices. I am based in Melbourne but will be in the US in March/April for anyone there with rims.
hi Simon I have a set of 328 16inch genuine Cromodora wheel set Australian based too if that’s something that would suit you ? I’m after 2200$
Thanks for the quick reply. I see you are in Brisbane. Quite late here now. I will PM you for details. Regards, Simon
Complete set of TRX from a UK 1986 3.2 mondial pre ABS here (same as 328) Excellent condition. Can include a spare as well if wanted
This is where I got my set of QV wheels when I put them on my '77 GTB https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Ferrari/308/308_Quattrovalvole_(1985)/PartDiagrams/036/Wheels
Thanks for that. But at AUD$2k per wheel, plus shipping, I think I will pass! In any event, these are actually the 16" wheels. I am looking for TRXs, which most likely, will be a matter of finding someone who has had a set lying around for years.
Indeed the 390mm metric option is normally throw away or turned into air line reels on a shop wall. I have 16"s and 14"s as fitment to my early car
Or in Australia, AFAIK. I *believe* 16" wheels were an option. My spare, along with the original tyre, is a TRX.
Why yes, I think you're right. Wow, one thing that's better on the US versions then (vs usually the Euro cars have all the advantages) as I think the 16" 308 QV wheels are some of the best wheels on any Ferrari. Plus they look great on the 308 GT4 too!
Have you had any luck?? 390mm s usually go begging in the US, if you se a set nag them and I can assist with shipping if possible, packaging and such. I'm sure the handling is improved over the base 14"s, as 390mm actually works out to 16.5", in fact the wheels have a cast warning NOT for 16" Tires, as I recall....
Waiting on a couple of people with them to get back to me. I actually like the look of the original 14" wheels, with the higher profile tyres. In theory the ride should be a little softer than with the lower profile 16" or 390mm wheels. My first drive of a 308 was about 300kms in a fibreglass one on 14" wheels and I was surprised at how comfortable it was. Then again, maybe it was just me happy to be behind the wheel.
