I'd have thought the OP is in enough pain and suffering without having to go through the last few posts'

You say that, but if the reports are true, then his actions will cause pain and suffering for all of us.

The OP wasn't driving the car - he was being a nice guy letting his brother drive; I don't think he needs any more grief from others.

I just want to know why insurance doesn't cover you on the way back from a roadworthy?

It might have been out of rego.

    No rego , no insurance.

If the person driving the Ferrari caused the accident and there's no insurance, the driver will be liable for the damages claims from the other parties.

But if you're going to and from a roadworthy for the purposes of rego them I think you're covered. I bought the 911 unregistered and Shannons provided cover straight away

You've got to be kidding, the media reports say witnesses have told police the Ferrari was driving at high speed on the wrong side of the road.
11 people injured, 4 serious and you're concerned about the "pain and suffering" of the OP !!!

What about the innocent victims, minding their own business, who are now in hospital because some idiot can't drive sensibly..

I always thought the owner was liable for property damage unless the car was driven without the owners permission, but I may be wrong.

This is why the car is insured , not the driver.?

Good point, what I was trying to say was that the damages claims are going to become someone's personal financial responsibility.

Mike,he's come here looking for some help.

He,obviously, didn't realise he's fallen into the internets',judge, jury and executioner.
I guess there will be an enquiry re the whole event and I suppose what is written here by some folk could be used by someone in a legal context(though I'm not really up on that stuff.)

Now he is being publicly vilified.

    Great job.

What, still no sympathy for the victims?

Yahoo 7 Twitter reporting it as "Speeding Ferrari causes five car crash"

    READ! what I said,not what I didn't say.

It's not "our" job to destroy a family on the internet.

I think the thread should be pulled if it continues in the vein you are going.

How exactly is a family being destroyed?

FFS what sort of reaction do you expect posting this stuff on a public forum?

Still no sympathy for the victims ?

Some **** speeding on a suburban road (in an uninsured Ferrari) has seriously injured 4 people, its completely indefensible.
