Does anyone know of a good machine shop that will do a small one-off job? I have a design for some bolt-to-the floor driver seat brackets that I want made. I am finding that the on-line shops either don't read their email or don't want to quote such a small job. I have the data in many 2-D and 3-D formats. It's not rocket science as it starts with 1.5" steel angle and requires some cutting, drilling, and one metric tapped hole.
Thanks for any help on this.

Is this for standard seats or racing ? Side mount racing seats can use standard existing Sparco type brackets to mount to the floor on a 308/328 and I believe there is a standard base-mount type too by OMP

At a guess the machine shops are worried about product liability issues

It's for the stock seat due to my height and I don't tell them what it's for. Thanks for the response!

Any chance you can post the drawings? I'm also tall and would love to see what solution you developed. Thanks...Jim

    Art,

Try something old school. Look in a phone book, yellow pages. Best source for small local shops even in this internet age.

Instead of a machine shop maybe you need to look for a welding/fabrication shop. Also there will probably be a race car prep shop somewhere near you and that would be a good bet for someone who has the metal fabrication skills you seek.

    It's made from available 1.5" x 1.5" x 0.188" steel angle
It requires a threaded hole which is the main reason that I will not consider aluminum.

I will gladly post once it works. It will make an odd paper weight as Verell would say :)

DATA?!?!!! I think most shops prefer a pencil sketch on a brown paper grocery bag. :)

    Send me the CAD drawings.

I can't promise to get to them before mid to late August due to current work queue, annua Ferrari BBQ, & vacation.
