NO RED OR YELLOW.........single lug of 5 bolt doesn't matter.

Any other color is OK, I had a red/tan TR in 2007 (bought from an F-Chatter in Omaha) and am looking for something different, and less visible. Color is irrelevant.

Would prefer a car needing a major service and/or serious mechanical repairs. No accident damage cars please. No salvage titles obviously. Repaints in OEM color OK. If your car "just had" a major service, don't bother contacting me unless Brian Crall or Dave Helms was the guy who did the work if it is located in North America, seriously......unless you are priced accordingly. I don't trust anyone else's paperwork, but I can call either of those guys.

Clean titles in hand only. Worldwide inquiries invited......especially if you are a long time credible F-Chatter.

Cash ready, will travel, be forewarned, I am a previous exotic auto dealer with 20+ years of experience, been on F-Chat prior to 2001......looking for a keeper. Expect due diligence and an in person PPI.

Good to see people aggressively seeking out TRs and the recent spate of happy new owners on FChat. Maybe the time IS at hand!

Interesting that there are no replies.............heh.

Then you might get one or two. Like the gentlemen previously stated......people are looking for them, buying and keeping them. All the positive press indicates the TR is on the way up. And yes....I am keeping mine thank you.

Your initial post comes across as a bit demanding. Particularly the parts about your service requirements and being "forewarned" about your previous experience.

Please take this as constructive criticism. Not trying to make trouble, just letting you know the first impression I got when I read the ad. It might be a turn-off for some potential sellers.

No problem and no offence taken........as that was my direct intention. Just letting vendors know that I am not the stereotypical F-car buyer that some of them may be holding out for. I am not unrealistic, far from it in fact, just quite specific and straight forward. Lots of people in this world don't handle candor very well. If you've been employed in the industry (I have), or bought more than a few of these (I have), you'd appreciate why. Ross gets it. I've been posting here since it was the old board (pre 2001) and this place is littered with posts from guys who have chased the F-car rainbow, only to find a pot of turd at the end. It's something I know how to avoid, and if it takes time, so be it.

I've scoured the ads here as well as all the websites that are out there. Still looking.........BTW........a $50K TR is really a $70K TR when you are done....and a $60K TR is a $80K example....etc....they ain't goin' up in value.....7,000 + made and one of the most expensive "modernish" F-cars to repair.

Christophe and Gene.......you both have a PM. Thank you for the replies.

No offense my friend, but someone who has a good car isn't going to let it go at your price point unless they are hard up for cash. You may have to wait.

I have had my car for 13 yrs and serviced by a local professional, who IMO is a better tech than the ones you mentioned. Does this mean my car is less appealing? Maybe ....but for the money people want to purchase it at I would rather drive it in the snow, rain and fart in it and then sell it for 40grand....the extra 20 grand to try and squeeze from someone is not beneficial for some that keep the car under a car cover in a heated garage and wipe it with a diaper ;)

I think you need to be very patient to find what you are looking for, it should come up, but expecting to find one quickly I think is naive.

Good luck in your search ! And post pics ones you eventually get it.

I find it funny that you state that you are a previous exotic car dealer and then belittle the very industry you come from. Perhaps you do so knowing what a bunch of do*$%e bags most exotic car dealers are.

As for me, IMHO, your posts sounds arrogant. It's amusing that the only people I find that thinks TR' values are not going up, are the very same people that are looking to buy one.

Brian and Dave are both top notch but so are a lot of other Independents. Try not to insult too many people with your 20 + years experience. My Mechanic, Jim McGee is an ace.

Just remember, you can catch more bees with honey than you could with vinegar.

Selling a car to a high maintenance person is like a doctor doing back surgery. The doctor is married to the patient and his attorney for life as he keeps comming back and complaining about the pain...never happy.

Interesting how some find the original post differently. I personally found the original specific, straightforward and a little arrogant. The second was snobbish and truly arrogant.

"Maybe I should have posted "stupid newbie with a woodie who will buy sight unseen wants a red TR" instead." Not sure if that was a joke or arrogance? We were all a "stupid newbie" to the Ferrari world unless we were born with a silver spoon stuck somewhere and had a rich daddy.

Also, why is it that so many feel it is their sworn duty to remind us.. "they ain't goin' up in value.....7,000 + made". Can't we just enjoy the car??

As testarossa717 mentions, their are other trustworthy Ferrari mechanics across that country. Don't know Mr. Crall or Mr. Helms, but I know their reputation. But you also have Tim Stanford and Murray Bacchus in Florida to Rod Drew-Francorchamps in California. To slam others "paperwork" is not fair to them. Last I checked, they have phones for you to call also.

Gotta love the comment by "Big red" !

I just have to post this here, I picked up my Testarossa today from the dealer where I was getting the AC recharged. It was among everything from an F12 to 355s and 458s. I have to say it at the risk of sounding obnoxious, but the Testarossa is hands down the baddest MF on the block. I can't imagine owning another Ferrari...it is the most arrogant, shocking and beautiful design Ferrari ever put into production. When I fired up that engine and heard all 12 cylinders come to life I had to wonder about threads like this....

Whatever a Testarossa costs to own or maintain it is a bargain...if you don't know that, you haven't owned one.

I am one jaded guy when it comes to exotics, and I still cant F-ing believe I own one.
