I've had my webers supposedly rebuilt by so called local experts twice and the damn things still don't work right. Does anyone know of a top notch mechanic that knows how a weber is suppose to be rebuilt, calibrated and tuned in the Ottawa area.

I can get you a list but you would have to Fedex the carbs here to T.O. It wouldnt be the first time for some im sure. ;)

I have heard there is a Porsche guy down south of town by Vars that is really good with Webers. No personal experience, I also am looking for a good F-car guy near Ottawa.

I've shipped the carbs out before but the problem is putting them back on and getting them to work right. I prefer someone in town that I can bring the whole damn car so he can fix them and set them up right on the engine. The porsche guy sounds promising since these cars also used multiple carb setups.

PM your info. I will ask the guy with the 911 at work for the details on the mechanic. I would like to go check out his shop at some point. Seeing another F-car and some cool P-cars.

    Thanks

    Mike

I've had "Zenith" carbs on my 911 T and purchased a refurbishing kit. However, my (Porsche-factory trained) mechanic wasn't able to get them to work properly. He told me that there are too many worn parts (loose linkage etc.). So I ended up purchasing a complete brand new Weber carb (from the US, at less than half of what it would have cost here).

Perhaps your problem is the same, and not poor mechanics. But of course, you should still get another opinion...
