Amen to that! same problem here, last guy we used took not only 3X as long but in the end wrecked 1/2 the project and well.. it was a mess, long story short. It's gotten to where we have invested in machines and hopefully be able to handle the smaller stuff in-house. However I'll be keeping on eye on this thread as finding a good leather and upholstery guy is exceedingly hard.

It's an old-school trade going bye bye unfortunately.

LOL was thinking the same. my father in law is willing to teach me. He's retired in that field and was extremely good.

I dont trust anyone anymore for critical work on about anything anymore

Yeah. I'm getting tired of doing everything myself but that's the only way it seems to get it right.

Johanns son has his own shop. Try him. I think entropy has used him. Ask him

Well, I'm not sure that would end well especially if I file a small claims case against his father... I'm not too in love with throwing $8K in the toilet as "lessons learned"

I stopped subletting work in 1980. Cant imagine today trying to sublet on a regular basis.

May have a person for you in NH just waiting on call back.

BTW I just switched to NUM-DINC on my drawings LOL

Has anyone found a high quality shop in Southern California or elsewhere for that matter?
I'm looking to have a full F355 interior redone.

I'm still looking and one would think SoCal with its 40+M inhabitants one or more could/should be found around here. :(
Having already experienced plenty of just about every other aspect of vintage car upholstery/interior fabrication/fitting/trimming/installation/repairs/etc, I guess I need to buy that sewing machine also, learn to use it well and add it to my repertoire too ...
