After hours and hours of encoding DIVX files to DVD Vob format, I'm sick of it. It takes wayy to lag and sometimes the audio is out of sync. At Best Buy, I came across DVD players that play DIVX, and I was wondering, if there's a good brand/model, that is cheap, but recommended. Most of the files that I download are from torrents, so I would need DIVX and XVID, and any other codec support possible.

whats a good divx DVD player?

Phillips players usually play that codec.

I needed a player that could handle any Region Code, PAL format, DIVx and AVI discs, so I bought this one. It's slow to load, but it plays everything I throw at it.

Here's the permanent region hack that will let you play anything:

    1. Turn on the unit
    2. Open the loading tray
    3. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
    4. Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right arrow key
    5. Enter 138931
    6. You will now see the current region code displayed
    7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or "0" for all regions
    8. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
    9. Press "OK" on the remote
