So pretty annoyed after the engine out service got an airbag light etc and the scan tools says basically need a new airbag (part# 169710) and AC module (part# 64324800). Well Ferrari does not sell these anymore and I’m stuck as I can’t find new ones or even used ones that I can trust work. Anyone have any clue what to do as this likely will happen to more than just me down the line - hoping someone has a stash or knows how to fix the chips that went on them?

Have you tried clearing the airbag code? As I understand it, this is one of the few codes that can be cleared by more advanced code readers. Any $20 reader can clear the normal codes (like emissions) though. We are getting to a point with the age of the airbag systems where we may want to consider disabling them anyway. I have not researched it myself enough to have an informed opinion but I am only throwing it out as a possibility. Good luck and post if you discover a verified fix!

My buddy doing the work has been a master Fcar mechanic for 20 years and I assume he did this but I will ask and see. End of day what’s concerning is any electronic components were to fail we are kind of ****ed. It shocks me that I can’t get anything I need for my 1996 993 turbo while my higher production F355 is a ***** to obtain electrical components.

Last year I had a similar problem with the airbag light on and found the correct part (169710) teile elektronik in Poland via eby.co.uk/str/teileelektronik. The airbag code was cleared and it works fine.

The AC Module can be repaired. There are companies which specialise in these. Common faults include driver chips. There's a long, long thread on these chips here:

It's important to check the components attached to these driver chips before replacing them.
