    Hi!

I'm trying to find a part number for this piece, or someone who might have an extra one that they are willing to part with. It's the bracket that connects the rear diffuser/extractor to the rear bumper cover. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

Early cars did not have a bolt on bracket - it was metal but bonded into the bumper which is probably why there is no separate P/N.

    Try Ferrparts

My car is a '98 so more end-of-cycle than early, and by the looks of the screws showing -- and the missing screws and bracket adjacent to the one pictured, it doesn't appear to be bonded in this instance.😕

Ricambi was no dice. I'll try Ferrparts, though I think I tried there already. Anyone else have any ideas?

Yes - I know your is not bonded - just pointing out why it likely has no part number. As other said, not too hard to make. Biggest challenge is the rectangular slot :)

Sadly, my bracket-fu skills aren't as good as yours. Actually I have no bracketological skills to speak of. 😕 It does look like having one fabricated may be the way to go however...

I was hoping to reach out here and find someone who had an extra bracket like the one pictured that they would be willing to give/trade/sell.

Longshot? Probably, but you never know unless you try.

They make drill bits to drill a square hole. I don't know how that works, just that it works.

In your case just Take one off the bumper and find a local metal shop, someone that may use water jet and you'll have a nice peice in no time.

If they have to make it by hand not a big deal either.

How much will the charge just don't say its for a ferrari.

Tell you what - send me your other side and we will make one for you in our shop gratis. It will be bare steel so you will have to paint it or have it plated or wait until the next time I send a lot for zinc plating :)

I try and skirt the Ferrari Tax whenever I can. I usually answer, "It's for an old FIAT" when asked. ;-)

That is mighty generous of you, Dave! I am happy to contribute to help defray the costs, of course. In starting this thread, it wasn't my aim to put anyone out...

So as not to seem like a total mooch please allow me to work all the angles a bit:

--Let's let this thread run a spell to see if anyone has an actual spare bracket to sell.
--I'll run down local contacts to see if I can't find a machine shop here that can fab one up.
--If all else fails: Dave, expect a PM from me to lock down particulars on how to get parts over/back between us!

Thanks! Man, I LOVE this place!

Stick a bit of flat strip in the vice and bash it over, drill a couple holes and file the square out. So so easy !!

Anthony - sure, explore the options and if they come up empty shoot me a message and we will run it through the shop. My guys are very talented and we can knock this out within an hour and do it in between other work. As I mentioned, if you want it plated you would just have to wait until I send another batch of stuff as it would be foolish to send just one piece.

And, I never thought for a second you were looking for a freebie. I'm happy to help and probably have the material in house.

Where do you get nuts like the OEM one shown on the bracket? They must have a pair of sheet metal tabs that extend through the slot and hold the nut in place on the bracket but let it slide in the slot.

Thank you. I haven't even gotten that far yet. Actually I didn't have much hope of finding that and was probably going to go with the old washer/gasket method.

But if any of the wiser 355 brethren has the answer...HELP! 😛

    I'm fairly certain (from memory), it's M6 x 1.0

    If I'm wrong, it's M8 x 1.25 :)
