    Hello-

I am currently in the market for my first Ferrari (long time Porsche owner). The two models that interest me are the 88-91 Testarossa and the 1995 355 coupe. I have not found any local cars that I could get some drive time, so I am looking for some feedback from current owners on both models. What should I expect to pay for above cars with 15-20k miles in excellent condition? Living in the Milwaukee area I have not seen a lot of local cars advertised, any recommendations on a dealer to help me locate one.

    Thanks

The only local dealer that might have something is Reina, and I think the only thing they have is a black 328. If you want to buy through a dealer, you might want to take the trip down to Lake Forest Sports Cars.

A late, low mileage, no stories TR should be in the $60-80K range. '95 355 GTB would be the same price range.

The two cars are very different. LFSC has a black '95 GTB and a red '91 TR in stock. It would be worth your while to take a trip to Lake Bluff.

You can also check out Continental AutoSports in Hinsdale,Il. They are about an Hour Drive South from you,(MKE),right on I-94/I-294. Then, just get off at Ogden Av.,WEST. They are about a Block West,on the South Side of the Street. You can't miss them. They are currently undergoing a Reconstruction, but are open.

They have a Few Cars in the Range/Model that you are looking for.

Check out their Website at: www.continentalautosports.com

They show several pix of each Car. All angles,The Interior,Engine Bay,everything. Then, click on the Pic,and it will go Full Screen so that you can really see it much better.

Tell them that Frank/red81308 on FChat sent you!

I just bought my first Ferrari and it is a 95 355 B. I bought it back in October and it is a great car to drive. The 355 has always been my favorite and I waited and did my research before actually buying it. I would gather up as much info and make sure when you do buy a car that it is one you can see first. I'm not a fan of buying a car out of state by just looking at pictures. This is not just any old car you are buying my friend!

Hi guys, I'm going to resurrect this ol' thread.

There is a 1998 355B at Continental Autosports. Their website lists it for $90K, and it had its belts done "2 years ago". It's got 11.5K miles and is apparently pristine. Here's the link:

    http://www.continentalautosports.com/inventory/details.aspx?id=NLIL0007.5/83201

Before I buy a last minute plane ticket (I'm in Northern California) to take a look for myself, I was wondering if any F-chatter either already knows of the car, or knew the previous owner of the car, or perhaps have some passing history of the car in terms of "seeing it at a show", or if it was part of a previous FCA, or F-chat get together.

Also, is there anyone at Continental I should talk to, or better yet, whom I should avoid?

I'll call Continental tomorrow, but my guess is I'll get the sales talk and not much else.

Thanks in advance guys; like most F-car first timers, I've been looking for the "right" car for over a year already so I'm in no big hurry. However, if this looks good, I may have to buy myself my Christmas present :)

An hour frank? Maybe if he was in a helicopter. I can't beleive how they are tearing up all the I-pass lanes. All those shifts, trucks getting stuckin the far left, cars who don't know breaking in the middle of the road not sure where to go... I once waited 30 minutes alone at the one near Westchester just waiting to get through while returning from a sales call.

Definitely go to LFSC. Great America traffic is no more and the people there are awesome. Continental has a fabulous reputation as well, but for your location, check out that Lake Bluff dealer. I'd still tell them FerrariFrank sent you, that FIB has a lot of pull in Chicagoland.

Nizam if you call Contiental ask for Lonny who is the used car manager. Been there quite awhile and very good to deal with. In fact their entire organization is great. Good luck

Guys, thanks for the positive input. I went out and took a look at the car. I dealt with Lonny. They cut me a fair deal, and the F355B is now sitting in my garage in Northen California (San Jose).

I would definitely deal with Lonny, and Gary at Continental again. They indeed are a great bunch!

Check out www.kipshewardmotorsports.com he just sold my 328GTS and only deals in the finest examples. You can trust him and his staff and can buy a car sight unseen from him. He did have several 355 models and a Testarossa on his showroom floor all low mileage cars. If you like any of the cars he has I will check it out for you he is only about 15 min from me.
