I am a reporter with Columbia News Service in New York and am working on an article about high performance cars and where people go to drive them. I'm not interested in the "Fast and Furious" adrenaline junkies in their 20s. I will be focusing on middle-aged professionals that have earned enough to buy a Ferrari, Aston Martin, etc... and where they go to let the car run a bit. There have been tons of articles on the legal racing tracks, I am looking for good stories of the other kind: some secluded spot Ferraris owners prefer, crazy traffic stories or a ridiculous speeding ticket. Do you have any great stories or could you recommend someone that does? Unfortunately I am working against a Thursday evening deadline. My e-mail is below.

Well if we tell you, we would have to kill you. ;) But in all seriousness, if we stated our routes, we would have cops waiting for us in the future no matter how legal it was.

    Seriously...Rob makes a good point.

Wouldn't the better story be not about the middle-aged folks who can "finally" afford an exotic car, but the 25, 30, 35-year olds who can also afford the same cars? I think with a little digging here, you'll find lots of "younguns" who own some serious machinery (i.e. Emil, Mr. Multiple Lambo Owner) and who drive them a heckuva lot harder and in more interesting places than the "Sunday cruisers".....

The above perhaps sounds a bit ageist. :) Not implying that any f-chatters I know are old fogey "Sunday Cruisers" -- everyone here is young at heart! ;) ;)

Noah's showing signs of his age.... I mean he even lumped Emil into the "youngin" group.. I would say you lose that status over 30. ;)

As for the intial post... I find it kind of funny that a reporter with a thursday deadline is trying to find a topic to write about on a Monday evening. I guess he wasn't planning on doing much research.
