I am looking to up grade my suspension on my 2007 599 GTB. Any one here has the following items. HGTE rims oz forza mito 3 HGTE Exhaust suspension new or used,..... Thanks John
John- Did you check with your dealer to see about a kit? The kits are cheaper than buying new parts. Not sure about used parts, but they are probably kind of rare. Last time I looked, TireRack had the OZ Mito Rosso wheels for the 599, just not in the same finish as the OEM wheels. You want 8.5Jx20 and 11Jx20 wheels to match the OEM ones, but wider sizes will fit, too, since GTO wheels fit the 599 fine.
I actualy would prefer the BBS FI wheels (GTO) over the OZ Mito. IMO best looking wheels availible for the 599.
thanks so I can fit the 599 GTO rims and tires on my 2007 599 GTB? Do I need to do any modifications to the body or the inner wheel base. If I can fit the 335 in the rear. What will the front tire size be? if i do go with the 599 GTO style rims and tires. this is a great help... yes the price for the HGTE I can get for new $8,000.00 with out the HGTE RIMS john
John- The GTO wheels and tires will fit the 599. Ferrari confirmed that and we have one owner with them already fitted. They are considerably wider than the HGTE wheels and you can use the best of the max performance tires currently, the Michelin Super Sports. Bad news is the wheels are over $10K and require special titanium wheel bolts. The steel wheel bolts will not fit. 599/HGTE Five Spoke F 19”, R 20”, 5 X 114.3 mm Front 8J X 19 ET 43.5 mm, Rear 11J X 20 ET 63.8 mm Challenge Monolithic 20”, 5 X 114.3 mm Front 8J X 20 ET 43.5 mm, Rear 11J X 20 ET 63.8 mm HGTE Five Spoke 20”, 5 X 114 mm Front 8.5J X 20 ET 40 mm, Rear 11J X 20 ET 63.8 mm 599 GTO Five V/Ten Spoke 20”, 5 X 114.3 mm Front 9.5J x 20” ET 38 mm, Rear 11.5J x 20” ET 63 mm
The 599 GTO wheels may have a real advantage, the wider front wheel allows to drive wider front tires Price for BBS FI is of course very high, also compared to the OZ Mito wheels, but I think the BBS wheels are most wanted.
I am looking around for 599 GTO TIRE SIZE. Are they also 20" all around. Can I put larger size rims and tires. I am looking at some HRE Rims can I put 21" on the car. or will they rub?? i currently have the optional Challenge style rims. 315 35 20 in the rear i think. john
There is a "lite" version of the HGTE suspension kit for cars such as yours ( with the 20" chellenge style wheels). It is everything in the regular HGTE suspension kit except the wheels. List is $7900 but I have it in stock and I try to take care of F Chatters. PM me if you are interested. Ken
Hello, I can confirm that the 599 GTO wheels (20" BBS F1) do fit directly to the GTB, as you can see it on the picture of my car. I prefer those wheels compare to the HGTE wheels (OZ), but taste & colors... But, it is MANDATORY to change the wheel lug bolts with new in Titanium ( very light), because the originals are not adapted and you can lose the wheels when you drive...! As I recommended in my topic with the link below.rip with the neww Those wheels are larger, but lighter and offer more grip with the new gums. I just come to receive the light HGTE handling kit, but I did not intall it yet. I will post photo on my presentation when it will be done. This kit consists of : HGTE Suspension Control Unit (new ECU for suspension in link with manettino) HGTE Front and Rear Suspension Springs. HGTE Front and Rear Shock Absorber Bump Stops. HGTE Rear Anto-Roll Bar and Mounting Bushes. HGTE Rear Wheel Arch Liners. You can buy this handling kit with the HGTE (OZ) wheels. You can find some other photo on the changes (I replace the 20" challenge wheels...) in my topic below: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=348639 Best Regards, Nicofr Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello John, I was trying to send you a PM but your settings will not allow it. Here is the info for you. This kit does include the tires. It also gives you new springs, a bigger roll bar and a new ECU to control the shocks. It really improves the handling and lowers the car a bit. It will work fine on a 6 speed car. There really is not an engine kit only the kit with a transmission ECU for quicker shifting for the F1 cars. It has a new set of mufflers but I think I can get you those by themselves. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks Ken
and that "new" ECU only works with the 2008 cars after whatever assembly number that was discussed in another thread. that is a deal and a half. terry is right, you can barely due FHP on a 575 for that.
I think the assembly number break is only for the ECU in the package which upgrades he shifting time. The ECU in the suspension package only affects the shocks. I think it will work on all 599s. I will verify this on Monday when I am back in the office
Ken- You are correct. Only the F1 ECU/TCU is incompatible with early 599s, the shock ECU works fine. We had shock ECUs on late 575Ms that would not work on early 575s, but that is not an issue with the 599.
The HGTE shifting upgrade is part of what they call the performance package. It consists of rear mufflers and new software for the Motronic and Transmission ECUs. It requires you to have a SD3 to do the reflash so it is not a plug and play type upgrade. We have done several of these and every customer has been thrilled with the result. Even our most jaded technicians are amazed at what a change it makes in the way the car feels and drives. Ferrari list price for the kit is $9627.40 but, as always, I will do what I can for Fchatters on the price. PM me if you need more info. Ken
