Greetings, I really like this car and it is going through a ritchie brothers auction march 8. I have never done the online bidding thing but am tempted for this car. It is a yellow 91 diablo with 45k miles and seems to be in good shape. I kind of have a thing for yellow diablos. Any info would be helpful. Thankx

    Richies? Really?

Which city is this one running? I get the flyers often but toss them all the time. I don't buy heavy equipment. But do you have any info on this car? As you can imagine there are a million things to find out about an old diablo that is selling along with dozens of tractor trailers, fork lifts and such. Any servicing needed, how's the clutch?

Bolton, Vasco, Bolton. Where you need to come visit Thomas @ Toyota and myself....

I would guess most of the guys there wouldn't be looking at exotics.......might be a steal of a deal.......

It does look good, I saw it in the classic trader with one pic and headed online where there are lots of pics. It even has the original rims with it. Depends on what it goes for but at a heavy equipment auction the price could be good.

Thanks. I just logged in and found it. I'm still registered! There are also 4 Lamborghini tractors listed in Europe too!!! :D

I definitely have seen this car before. The guys at Forza might know this car.

This car may sell cheap. But be prepared for other stuff...

Vasco, this car looks familiar to me also. IIRC, I've seen this car many times driving around Kleinburg/Woodbridge area a few years ago.

According to the VIN plates on the car, it was imported by MCL Motorcars...which is in Vancouver. It must have made its way east sometime ago....

I bought a 91 diablo cheap 5 yrs ago. After I bought it I found out it needed the chain tensioners updated and a new clutch. It cost me an extra 40k by the time everything was completed. With out any service history on a 91-93 Diablo I wouldn't do it again. 1 clutch is to stiff. You can't see out of the front window with that pod in the way. No power steering. I am looking around for a 94 and up if anyone know of any.

    Just my 2 cents.

That is one thing about these cars is they are going to cost. It is just a matter of how much and when. That is why i posted hoping that mabe someone here knew the car and mabe a little history. I have had pretty good luck buying on line so far but could get iffy with a 45k 91 diablo.

There was a yellow Diablo seized in Alberta last year. I had a picture of it as it was going from Calgary north (somewhere) on a flatbed. I will look to see if that's the same one.

Yes, it was seized around Christmas as we were heading to Edmonton when we saw it on the QEII.

I think the one seized had a rear wing though.

I have been waiting on the one that was taken in Calgary to come up for auction but no luck yet. I am betting the yellow one was my old one heading to its new owner in Edmonton.

So you had one and now looking for another? I guess you regreted selling the last one? :)

Anyway, good luck with this. Assuming that the car needs a clutch (again, just assuming) and some other work. I wouldnt pay more than 35K.

The car from Calgary had quite a few issues that needed attention... As long as you're prepared for a project, it could make a fine car one day.

Just found it on the site and I notice in the Notes section it says the car has had rear end damage.

Yea i saw that too, I guess as long as it is repaired properly and it would be nice to know if it has a salvage title. In the pics it looks good but you never know unless you see it in person. The cheapest i have seen a running diablo go for in Canada was 50,100 so i am thinking this one will go for between 45 and 60k. We will know in a few days.

I am pretty familiar with Ontario auction and dealer sales rules and all I can tell you is that you should already know if it's a salvage tittle and the amount of the "hit" well in advance of bidding. Or on the day of auction at the latest. So, I hope you've done your due diligence. Legally according to OMVIC, these things should be stipulated!

P.s for the record, I ain't affiliated or against this car or seller. Just stating whatever little facts I know. ;)

    P.s.s. , a carproof.com report will be your friend.
