    First - You guys rock.

Second - I am probably breaking all kinds of F-chat rules by posting this here, but y'all are a fountain on information and I posted this question on the 456/550 page (not sure you guys look there, and you are a fount of info)!

Third - 456 is in the house, life is good ... 1995 gunmetal grey over tan (bad ass subtle) - thanks again for the guidance (I offer a round when I actually see you out in NYC)!

Finally - NYC Potholes suck. Killed 2 the low profiles on my Porsche. Need a "bicycle" tire to fit where the tools are on the 456. I think one of those small ones will fit ... thoughts? Attempts/failures? Random ramblings?

    Thx again!

(Have not locked up new garage yet - this week ...)

Grab a can of fix-a-flat from an auto parts store and keep it in thet runk. Also, join the Hagerty insurance network for classic cars. Benes are great...

Somehow, when I crush a tire, fix-a-flat does not seem to cut it ... like you know, these nyc pot-holes are a nightmare (and the resurfacings they do with the pot-hole covers 6 inches high? I would like to meet that genius ...).

So I am thinking bicycle tire - I thought you guys would have been down this path (not sure if you all have 550's w/real spares) ...

Between the Jetta, Acura, and the GDC fleet, I've bent rims, gotten plenty of bubbles, and gotten a few flats. Fix-a-flat has been fine for almost all of them, at least for a short while. But I'm not really into carrying a spare in any of the exotics -- if a flat happens in NYC, then I'd sooner just pull over, take a cab home, and grab a full-sized replacement.

I have AAA+. They just refused to flat-bed the 308 unless I road with them. Go figure.

That mustve been the independent tow company's policy, or something new @ AAA. I once sent my Supra home alone from Allentown while I stayed on.

If you bend or bang up your rim(s), go to Wheel of America, they will repaint, refinish and reshape your rims for $125-$175 each. A lot less than $2,400 that a F-dealership will charge you.

Good to know about those wheel guys -thx ... glad to hear reports that no one has had major tire issues around here (old Porsche wheels may have been softer metal) - the commute from NYC via queens out east always seems to always involve one road with serious issues ...
