Hey Guys, my lower control arm bushings are wearing on the 550 and the original replacements are close to 1k for all 4, left & right side. Has anyone found a less costly alternative for these. Thanks!

I believe I went through this recently, as well, and I suspect this thread might help you along the way . . .

I avoided a solid/delrin bushing and went with the Superformance ones. After getting a bad batch back, I then finally got good parts, and I believe that while it has only been a few months, they have held up well to date.

I'm a big fan of delrin. It is so easy to machine yourself and cheap. There are so many advantages to rubber except noise. It is ok my to do list as my 550 is on the lift now. Big problem I see with not going OEM is that you might find something that fits but does it have the same durometer?

Awesome!! Tnx u for this tip sounds like a great alternative:) going to order them as well. Do you think I should do the uppers as well? Was going to do both left & right lowers. Would it be smart while I'm doing it to do both together?

I recently replaced all my bushings with Superformance bushings and the job turned out quite well. The only issue I had was with Superformance shipping me multiple incorrect bushings, and having to wait a week for replacements to arrive from UK. They did make good on all of their obligations.

I did all 4 wheels all bushings at once.

    Regards,
    Pete

I think you should do all of them at the same time . . . that way, you know you are on all fresh bushings, and much of the labor to get in there will happen either way (just like an alignment you'll have to get no matter how many bushings you get). I replaced all of the fronts at one time, and when I do any of the backs - I will replace all of those, as well.

Good luck, and glad to see my experience was helpful to someone else! :)
