I know this is a longshot, but here goes .........

I used to live/work in Dallas. In 1983, I sold my 1979 Euro model 308
GTB, black exterior/biscuit leather interior. It was EPA/DOT
    certified in Houston.

I had smacked the front end, and Norwood Performance did some
mechanical work on it (cooling fans, if I remember correctly). I don't have the serial number or any other identifying data. Sorry I can't provide any more identifying characteristics. I remember that the guy who bought it in 1983 applied a gold-colored stripe/side molding in the body side crease.

Anybody know of its whereabouts? I'd be interested in re-purchasing it if it is available.

You may want to give the guys at Norwood Performance (972-831-8111) a call and see if they have any of your old records still in their system. That might give you a serial number to track it by.

Did you happen to advertise it in the Ferrari Market Letter back then? If so, there's a good chance the serial number has been tracked

Since it's a GTB, there's a chance someone at this site: http://www.r-design.net/308/index_e.html might know it.

Once there's a serial number, odds get better for finding it

    Anyway, welcome to Fchat

Scott, let us now how it goes finding your old car.

I have thought about doing the same thing. As a kid, my dad had a red 308 GTB (lived in Chicago) and I would, someday, love to track that car down and buy it. That car was/is the sole reason for my Ferrari obesession. I'm in the same shoes as you....I was 7 when he owned it, and he passed when I was 9. I have three pictures of the car....that's it! Let me know how you do.

    Oh yeah...welcome to the site.

    Thanks Tillman - much appreciated.

I contacted Norwood and I'll check out the 308 GTB Registry.

Probably not the same car, but the GTB I currently own was supposed to have spent time in Chicago. Going by your age in your profile it's probably not the same one, but you never know. It's actually ruby red in color and supposedly owned by a judge or something up there.

Sure would be cool, but Dad was not a judge! He stood in front of a judge on a few occasions though! Someday, I'll find that car!
