i have some minor things that need to be done on the 456m. i dont want to take it to the dealer since i fear that he will try to replace the parts with brand new items when they can just as easily be repaired for less. does anybody know of a reputable garage/mechanic within striking distance of geneva?

Ross, if you don't trust your main dealer not to replace parts that aren't broken, then you need to find another dealer IMHO.

What needs to be done? If you want to change wipers you can take it to any mechanic.
If its anything they need some F car experience with then an independant isn't going to be cheaper than an official mech.

I know GOOD independants here in the east, and they are not cheap.

I'll ask around, i know a good specialist from whom i wanted to buy a 456, he's in Lyon France, it's about 150km from GVA but... it's a tad far. I know many ferrari guys around the lemanic arc, i'll ask them. I know Speedy Garage in Romanel sur Lausanne does the work for sure. I would eventually come up with 2 or 3 other names this evening. Cheers.

The name topping it all. Garage Donati. Route de Lavaux in Corseaux. They are the best. Cheers.

pav, thx i will look them up.

simon, its not a matter of trust, its a matterof expense. i have a couple fo small issues to deal with, and i know that the dealer will oly choose to replace the part instead of perhaps fixing the existing part. for example,m the adjustable shocks can be replaced for $800 per shock plus labor, or sent to bilstein for 10% of that cost. which one would you rather do ? the answer for me is clear.

i like my dealer in geneva. but i like to have options too.
