    I sold my 400i 5 speed nearly six years ago and have regretted it ever since. Due to computer failures, I no longer have the contact info for the buyer. I am hoping to contact him and try to buy it back. He is from Canada. The car's VIN is 40555, it is black with tan leather. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

    interesting... #40557 ('81 5-speed, Black/Black) got the full treatment here and went to Conn. very briefly before it came back.

    good luck in your search...but if you can't find it, #40557 might be an option...it's been DONE and it's for sale (with a new Conn. Title).

    'search' 40557 if you'd like to see what was done.

    again, good luck finding your former 400i.

    I would love to have 40557 - especially with the new engine. I do love a tan interior though rather than black. Whoever owns 40557 or 40555 should give me a PM.
