Bad brakes (one owner was presented a bill for 40k after his son drove it) and evil handling don't make for a happy owner. Probably only safe for Cumberland Street...

It's true, although we(Donnie and I) have a extensive list that needs to be gone over during the P.P.I to properly determine it's real value.

Owners tend to say the bad press the brakes get are a myth - they handle fine. The cost however is NOT a myth.

    We shall see!

Street in yorkville which is one way, straight, and usually moving at a slow pace. Filled with exotics most of the time.

The USA market SLR is a bargain compared to what they cost new in Canada. An American market SLR in the 2005-06 years seems to range from 225k to 250k depending on mileage. However stretch to 275k and you get a one or two year old car with very low mileage and possibly a convertible. Unless it has to be the McLaren the 599 GTB offers more choices available for about the same money but no convertible...

    VERY INTERESTING POST!!!

There's a 2005 silver/black with 8000 miles that can be bought for $198,000 u.s now down from $204,000 last week(wholesale) so there are some good deals down there right now.

i'd get a ford gt and a 360 for the track. BUT the SLR is a very very cool car and without a doubt a monster on the road!

ma, i would spend 80K and get a xk "r" jag (1 yr old) and put the other 110K into a few parties with some 25 yr old hotties for the next few years...better return on investment ;)
and a hell of alot more fun :D... the driving experience has got to be better ;)
