Hello all, I just joined this discussion group on the advise of a Ferrari dealership service manager. Since I can't afford a real Ferrari, I have been busy building a 1/16 scale replica of my favorite Ferrari, the 288 GTO. My question to whomever can assist is that I need good pictures of the front bonnet (spare tire area) where the power steering, master cylinder and wiper fluid reservoir, radiator, air intake ducts are located. I also need pictures of the original braking system (disks, calipers, etc.). My plan is to accurately reproduce as much of the original car as possible. As an example, I have already spent at least 100 hours on the engine alone.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
    Regards!

Are you starting from a model kit,or building from scratch?

Hello Slim, no, I am improving a 1/16 scale Fujimi model which, I am discovering, has a LOT of incorrect or simply missing components. As an example the calipers and and disks provided look like crap, are the wrong style and don't even have any venting. So, basically, I am making new disks and calipers completely from scratch. Each disk takes about 6-7 hours to build.

Another example are the components under the front bonnet, such as the power steering, power brake system, brake lines, wiper fluid container and pump, heating and fresh air ducts and even the spare. These parts are just plain not included!!! I'm also making those from scratch using pictures are reference....Aiieeee!!

I am getting back into this hobby after about 12 years. As I've discovered, I still have the knack and the love of accuracy I had long ago. I will be entering this model in competitions in the Ottawa, Ontario region when I'm finally done building it.

If someone is interested, I can post pictures of my progress :)

    Regards!
    Gaetan
