    Good luck.
    I commend you for your effort, especially if you're simply trying to re-unite it with the car.
    Few years ago I came across a bunch of original parts removed in late-'50s/early-'60s from three different "early" Ferraris (one with two digit VIN, one three and one four digit VINs) and wish give them to current owners of each car.
    While I managed to track down one of cars, two are still mysteries.
