    Hi,
Looking to buy a 84 or 85 308. I've just about decided on this model as I like the console with the sliders and toggle swicthes vs. the 328's. I also like the fact they used galvanized or rustproofing in those models. By the way, does this help with rust, even though the cars are 24 years old??

I'd like to look and sit in one before I continue on my search. Is there any owners in La. or Tx area that would mind showing me their car? I'm looking to buy something in the next month or so.

Prices seem all over the place, I guess it just depends on how bad someone wants to sell their car.

Any help or advice is appreciated, I've done some research already and read the buyers guides, Seems like maintence records are a must.

    Thanks

maintenance records are just paper. Make sure the car is oke by a ppi or similar
about rust, i find these cars amazingly well preserved against rust, even the older non galvanized ones.

edit: and of coarse, welcom to the club. You'll find it pretty noce here

I used to have an '84 308, great car, very reliable. I purchased her
with about 35,000 miles and took it up to 75,000 when I sold it.
Definitely get a ppi from a knowledgeable Ferrari guy. Just keep in
mind a few things,it is a 30+ year old car. AC is notoriously not great,
slow window lifts, but all in all fun and beautiful.

Hi Mark, welcome. I may know someone that might be selling a 1985 GTS QV, Red/tan that has around 45,000 miles, great condition. He is my old neighbor that are very hard to catch as he is always traveling. All I know is he drives his car at least twice a month and always keeps up with the maintenance. Give me some time I will try to go to his house and leave a note. in the mean time if you found a car you like, let me know and I can go with you, I moved down here in Cerritos close to Long beach.

But I may still be interested in your neighbors car, if the price is right...

I'm in Louisiana and looking just want to at least sit in one before I buy....I have no problem buying one anywhere in the country if its a good clean car...I really don't want to have to start fixing one up.

Bit of advice... Don't rush it. You can very easily get burned by falling in love with the first car you see.

I have a nice '78 308 GTS for sale. Carburated cars just sound so great!! And with the Electromotive ignition installed, it starts and runs like the later cars. Not very hard to ship a car from NJ to the Southland. <grin>
