Just asking if any here have one and if they have any opinions. The one thing I did not like is the delay when pushing on the gas pedal. I'm sure one gets used to it. I drove 2 and both had it. One was maybe slightly better in that the delay was slightly less. For the most part these new ones are the same as my 2002 Silverado. My Silverado only has 75,000 miles and is very nice yet. But the price is right on these 08's.

The price would be better on a low mile '07 and you will probably save about $15K.

The pedal dealy must be in practically every new vehicle. I had a automatic bmw 328 as a rental and it had the dealy too. Drove me up the ****ing wall!!! I wonder why one was shorter than the other?

I'm so sick of all this computer **** taking over everything.

My friends looking at getting a new Sierra as well. I doubt you'll have much to worry about.

I have a couple, not sure what you mean by the gas pedal delay. Mine are duramaxs so maybe I dont notice it as much as the turbo lag. The only regrets on these trucks is the resale.

Not really. The '08 is a completely different truck.

the delay is likely caused by the time it takes for that much gas to travel from that gas hog's tank to the FI

The new 09's get the six speed automatic vs four speed in the 2008 half tons. Just a thought

I have one of those new Sierra's. Probably the best truck on the market IMO. The delays in the throttle are from the drive-by-wire, as the servos that open up the butterfly can only go so fast. Try it on your car that is dbw with the ignition on but the motor off. You can even hear it.

Anyways, the truck is solid. 30k miles and no rattles. Solid as can be. The new Auto 4WD system is so quick its measured in milliseconds to engage. Another thing I love is the older truck had so much play in the steering wheel. There is no play in this one. I really dig the way this truck looks. It looks mean and bad ass (mine is in black). I love it. Cost to fill up today - 90 dollars.

The 6 speed would be nice. But the 09's do not get the $5000 rebate. So I guess I'll do an 08.

I know it is totally different in many ways. But overall it seems just like my 02. If I would compare my 02 to the 09 I would proabably not say it is the same as the 09 has the 6 speed. I'm sure that makes a world of difference and should be much nicer than the 4 speed.

If you're not in a hurry, I'm sure there will be healthy rebates on the 09's in very short order. That new 6-speed tranny isn't going to send trucks flying off dealer lots.
