I am looking to buy the 1996 F355 Spider at F of D. I am a significant distance from there was wondering who to use for a PPI. It is the Canadian spec car. Can I rely on the dealer or should I look to someone else? Does anyone have any information about this car?

    Thanks, eh.

If you're referring to the red spider it had a sold sign on it yesterday.

I may not have big money, but when i walked in, i looked like MONEY i.e. armani suit and bruno magli shoes and some prada shades. Tag Heuer watch. Man... forget those dicks. But anyways there was a burgandy 355 spyder in there with a sold sign on it. The red one, i dont remember a sign being on. After he was a D*ck, i proceded to ste off the car alarm on the blue bentley GT convertable.... TWICE. lol juvenile i know, but i just couldn't help myself

I show up in jeans & a t-shirt more times than not, and am always treated well.

Heck, my daughter came with me one time fresh from a soccer game still in her "gear", and Derek had no issues with her trying on a couple cars knowing she had about 5 years to go before she could ever drive out in something.

Perhaps they were on to something which was comfirmed by you setting off the alarm multiple times on purpose...

Ditto. I'm 18, I'll show up in "regualar clothes" just to stop in and take a look. I've never been looked down on (that I know of ;) ) and if one of the dealers isn't busy, they've chatted with me for a minute or two.

FoD is one of the kindest dealerships I've been to. Never any issues with me, a 20 year old college student with obviously very little moolah.

I'm an 18-year-old college student. Went in there last week and the people COULD NOT have been more friendly and nicer. I've never had such a good experience with a car dealer. Derek was busy when I showed up but took time to talk with me anyway, and everyone else who I met was as great as can be. I can't wait to buy a car from them in a few years (although Derek didn't seem too keen on keeping the 575M Superamerica there until I could afford it).

I just talked to them and guess why they treated you like that???

They saw you stop in the doorway and turn your tie "Label out" so they could see it!

I don't even know where to start with this.

I think that I've worn T shirts and shorts or jeans (not nice stuff either) pretty much everytime I've been in there and been treated super well. Always. No exceptions.

I will say this: I don't know anyone among us who owns Ferraris (new and old, single and multiple) who owns any of the things that you mentioned, except maybe someone might have a Tag watch (not me).

The guys at all Ferrari dealerships know exactly how to tell who's trying too hard and doesn't have anything else (and I'm definitely not talking about money) and just about the image. And I'll say that I don't want to buy a car that's been test driven by every tool on the planet looking for a joy ride so I'm glad they know how to tell.

I could not agree with you more. Believe me I am not a big fan of FOD but they have always treated me very well. I personally don't take my cars there but there customer service and sales people have been kind to me. Also my uniform everyday day is jeans and t shirts or shorts, never had a problem. **** I dont even own an armani suit. :) ( have to save the money to change the oil in the Ferrari ;) ) My experience usually the guys that look like MONEY don't have any :)

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. They should have thrown you out on your ass. The fact that you even own that crap is ridiculous let alone you think you should be treated better because of it.

They had no problem taking my personal check for a 430 despite my being in faded jeans, worn out sneakers, old tee shirt and sweat stained baseball cap. In fact, Bill gave me a new hat feeling that my old NAPA parts cap was not suitable to drive away in a new 430.

I'm always suspicious of people dressed to the nines, especially in Colorado where dressing up is putting on a clean pair of jeans.

There is an old Texas saying---"big hat=no cattle"!

FOD has nothing but top notch people so be not afraid at all of buying and servicing a car with them. If you want a PPI they will do it and they will be EXTREMELY honest. If you want another quality company for the PPI then take it to Dave Helms at Scuderia Rampante in Boulder (top notch F-car mechanic).

I have 3 cars I take to FOD for service (bought one from them too) so do not listen to any of these jamokes who bad mouth FOD. Believe me they do not have a frickin' clue.
