    I would add one item to Boxer's excellent guide.

    Worth checking the condition of the magnesium clutch bell housing if normal brake fluid has been used. The inside of the housing can corrode due to the reaction with the brake fluid. AP Racing 551 is compatible with magnesium, but apparently aggressive on rubber. Many cars now have an inner lining installed into the housing.
