Pulled the trigger today with Randy at Motorcars Intl in MO. I really like those guys. Argento GTS. Will be picking it up and driving back to Colorado in the next few weeks and will be excited to share with the group. Dave Helms at Scuderia should be happy to see a silver car instead of all the red. Should give his eyes a breather!!! Thanks for all the comments and pictures the group posted. But most of all - Thanks to Bullfighter for his fantastic insight offline and entertaining me while stuck at DIA waiting on delayed flights. Jon is fantastic! Robb
congrats, fantastic move, I hope you enjoy it all the time. I remember getting mine just over a year ago and driving it back 500 miles, great first drive and may you have a great first drive.
Great news! Congrats. Please take lots of pics and post them here and in the 328 Mega Thread. I love non-red 328's!
Robb Congrats mate. MO to CO for your first run eh? Should know the car a bit after that. Tillman Thanks. Painted targa and Transverse Whatsit with GTB louvers looks purrfect to my eye. I can love even a red 328 GTS like that. Just as well 'cause thats whats around on sale. Now to start looking for the spare parts... Will give me something to do between now and when I'm ready to pull the trigger.
is there a scenic route from MO to CO?... I think not. I like Kansas but not for driving due west. Maybe I can hit Canada and come around... Just kidding. Well I will bring several cameras and focus on the car with a hint of environment. Better not get that horizon wrong on the plains. I am already thinking of great trips to take with the 328 out west. Robb
Hey Robb, Congrats on your GTS. I'm sure you will love it. Not sure if its the same car but I saw an argento/tan 328 on ebay the other week and the color combination is really handsome. I look forward to seeing some photos here on Fchat soon. Enjoy that first drive. Best regards, Dino
Congrats on the purchase, Robb. Wishing you many miles of smiles. (I'm still smiling from my drive tonight. ) Having just looked at all the photos in the threads, all the cars pictured looked great. They sure don't look like 20 year old cars. Regards, Pete
Great color choice! You have excellent taste. Enjoy the drive back to CO from MO. -- Anthony Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the well wishes. I am looking forward to the pickup date. It will be a fun trip with my girlfriend back to Colorado. Anthony, That is a great looking image of your car. I always saw the photo in front of the restaurant but can now put the face (member) to the car. Very nice. My car was sold new in D.C. / Va. May have to come visit my family in the area and drive the 328 back for a nice photo op with yours. I am sold on the Argento. Wonder how many they made in that color? The weather was great tonight. Wish the car was here already to take advantage of the fantastic breeze, and blue sky... Pete, When I was growing up, a friend had an '85 or '86 vette. I always looked forward to taking off the targa and cruising at twilight. Always appreciated the topless experience since then although this F-car will be my first targa since enjoying his ride. Sorry I waited so long... Well you learn from your mistakes. I will make the most of this great car and the great members here. Robb Will take full advantage now and
I think your car's twin sister is stalking me in San Diego - camera phone pic at lunch today, silver 328 between two F430s: Image Unavailable, Please Login
That would be my evil twin brother. Amazing that you can get off a quick photo with the camera phone. I take photos for a living, but a camera phone is never easy for me to deploy quickly. A Leica M8 on the other hand... Or canon 1ds... Nuther story. Bought my plane tickets to MO. I pick it up on Friday the 1st. They are doing the major with valves, belts, water pump, etc. I just can't wait. How Exciting! My girlfriend has to work that weekend so my 10 year old is going with me - although it is a surprise as to what we are doing on the road trip... Should be a great experience. I'll be bringing the cameras in force. Told him that if he gets into the Air Force Academy, I'll buy him an F-430 or scud or 599 - his choice. Seems like a fair trade off... He gets to be a pilot, engineer, and be set for his life. I get to pay for something he will always have rather than feeding the library fund... You guys have a good weekend. Robb
ouch ok, to clarify: I did own a Model T pickup...mush easier on the pocket book for tune ups than an engine out....part can be had for pennies..
Which car is he stalking you in? Your audi tt or 328? Is it like the paper boy looking for his 2 dollars...? Robb
T-minus 3 days... to go get the new 328 in MO. I have updated the avatar. Will post more photos after the car gets it's final detail in the next day or two. Almost there. I am very excited. The car is in beautiful shape. The mechanics at Motorcars Intl are impressed with the engine and overall condition. That's always a good sign. Randy says the mechanics don't normally say much so they were feeling good vibes... They finished the full monte on the major service Friday - matching Bullfighters a la carte list in his FoSD post. They said it was a VERY hard pulling car. Should be a great start for me with all the work done from the get go. I'm in Spokane, Wa. doing some photos for work. Looking at the black 328 gtb for fishyfishfish on Tuesday. More photos soon... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very happy for you, Robb. She looks beaut! Some examples look that little more the complete thing. Your's seems one of them.
