Since the summer in Arizona is coming to an end, and it is just about time to take the car out of storage, I want to spend a month or so redoing some of the interior pieces.

My seats, which were recovered prior to my owning the car, were not recovered to factory shape. Instead the previous owner opted to change the look to more of a Daytona and add padding. Etc. I want to get the seats back to factory spec, and I have been searching for a while for a shop which can do the job properly the first time. I have found a couple of shops in California which seem to be capable of doing the work.

The shop also needs to have factory patterns as my current leather will be unusable as a guide.

Does anyone know if there any shops in Arizona which are known for doing great Ferrari interior work? It would be nice to check in on the progress and not have to pack and ship them.

I will try to take some pics tomorrow...they were poorly done. "Daytona style" is the only way I could describe them, maybe not accurate.

I know of a guy here in Atlanta. He did my seats and they are pristine. I don't know how much it would be to ship them, but if you are looking for perfect he is the guy. My seats were $3500 for everything.

Classic Coach is probably the best in the Ferrari restoration business.

Talk to Bill Pierson at Symbolic here in San Diego. They did my 328 and the car won a Concorso/Best V8 Ferrari trophy last year. Door panels, seats, console, etc.

They contracted out the leather cutting/sewing to Arjay's, nearby. They have patterns for Ferrari interiors -- I visited the shop and it was pretty cool.

Looks very nice Jon. Looks like your new seats are more of a "matte" finish, and less glossy than OEM, is that right? Can you provide the cost? Thanks.

Actually, the matte finish is closer to how the car left Italy back in 4/87. Photos here, top one being the old leather removed from the driver's seat. The glossy portion was re-dyed with Leatherique, whereas the other portion was folded under during the upholstering process and so was never dyed or faded by the sun. (It's possible the 355 had different leather, so I can't give you a definitive answer there.)

Bottom pic is the console with new leather. It's as close as possible to original leather and thread color.

    Cost was ~$5000.

    Bullfighter,

Symbolic is one of the people I am considering in California, they seemed nice and wanted around $3k. VERY nice shop and clean.

I am also looking at Fernando @ Prestige auto upholestry. Shop was OK looking, but they had 5+ Ferraris that they were currently working on...none of them were for the seats.

I was hoping for an interior shop here in AZ so I could check on the progress and also not deal with the shipping.

Thanks Jon - I guess I was mistaken about the 328.

Makes sense. If you decide to go that way, I'm sure Bill and crew would send you update photos.

They have done some of Nic Cage's cars (including his California Spyder), so they know their stuff.

Im also going for the Leather-seat "recoloring" this Winter. Bullfighters pictures look nice, though this kind of "aftermarket leatherpainting/recoloring" has one downside i think... - The seams/stiches also gets another color... In my opinion this is a pity, because the original factory threadcolor of the stiches/seams are almost always in a slightly different color from the leather itself. If u wanna have the best results with this kind of aftermarket recoloring you simply haft to recolor the whole interior, so the thread is recolored also, everywhere.

    My opinion.

    Kimmo/Sweden.
