My wife and I want to travel to Sydney in a few months (my mom is Australian).Any recommendations among the airlines? Aside from US airlines (Delta, United, American) I see Qantas, Qatar, Cathay Pacific.

We will travel from Boston, so stop halfway somewhere.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

Lots of variables, no one-size-fits-all. Best to research based on your preferred options - economy, premium economy, business, etc. You're least likely to die on Qantas.

Personally, Qantas would always be my last choice.

Qatar first, then the rest, then Qantas only if nothing else was available.

Qantas is my 1st choice - perhaps because I am LTG :D
Cathay is my 2nd choice, because they go to places Qantas doesn't

We flew from the US to Sydney one time with a stop over in Hawaii. Morning flight out of Miami, arriving mid afternoon in Hawaii, stayed for a couple of nights then morning flight to Sydney with Qantas arriving in the afternoon. Hardly any jet lag which was nice. If I remember correctly the Miami flight was with American Airlines, and seemed much better than the domestic commuter type flights within the US…

It’s a long flight, so whoever flies a 380 business class out of LA. Most likely AA/Qantas.
My daughter lives in Pallarenda, so we have to use Brisbane which is BA 777. No comparison to a 380.
