I live in NY and I am looking into working at a Ferrari or Lamborghini dealership. I am actually performing live at the Lamborghini LP560 event in Manhattan on Friday night, so I am hoping to find the right contacts there. Does anyone know of a dealership that is hiring or know of anyone to talk to? Thank you!

    Chris

They are very exclusive so if you do not know anyone, it is almost impossible to get in. What are you looking to do? Intern? Paying job? If it is paying, it is pretty much impossible, especially at this time. Also have to keep in mind that Lambo and Ferrari dealers are few and far between so you do not exactly have a choice of picking. In NY for Ferrari you only have Ferrari of LI, Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Wide World (Westchester?), and Ferrari of Central NJ. For Lambo you only have Manhattan Motorcars (NYC), Lambo of Bergen County (Bergen County, NJ), Lambo of LI (Jericho, LI).

Well I am performing at a Lamborghini release party, and there will be people associated with Lamborghini there. Any suggestions on who to talk to and how to get in? Thanks!

What are you looking to do for the dealerships?

In the current market where the lamborghinis aren't being sold for profits , and ferrari is suffering having to sell cars to furst time customers at sticker....I cant imagine anyone is hiring.

Don't work for a dealer. Get a job as a bankruptcy lawyer. That's where the money is right now. You can then buy your own.

Well Lamborghini's are to flashy for the Greenwich market. Even though they have lots of money doesn't mean they will buy anything they want.

Yeah that's certainly a rewarding job financially, but CERTAINLY NOT rewarding to the heart. I'm sure you could make a lot of money doing that, but I don't think that would bring happiness.

I don't think that even in"great times" a Lambo or Ferrari dealer is going to hire an inexperienced salesperson to sell cars. You don't start out in the executive suite, you start at the bottom, pushing the broom and work your way up the food chain, unless Daddy owns the dealership, and even then. It's good to be ambitious, but a dose of reality might serve you well today.

Ok that's good to know, and I think it makes sense to start at an entry level job. Would these jobs likely be minimum wage?

I like the way you think Roger!

Back to the OP's question thought, even if you're coming in at an entry level position in an exotic or ultra luxury dealer - for the most part you would still be at or around min wage. Only exception would be sales because you earn what you make since it is commission but you wouldn't get a sales position at a dealer like that if it was your first sales gig. If you're looking to push a broom or wash cars I might be able to help you out but other than that you need to work your way up the ladder as everyone else did. Hope that helps you, feel free to ask more questions in this thread if you want.

Well even that might work, because you gotta start somewhere. I might be able to figure out a way to do that on minimum wage. Do you work at Manhattan Motorcars?
