+1 if he can afford it, possibly gather some spare parts now, if he goes ahead with keeping it long term ....I definitely see the karma as a future collectible IMO ....the one thing i'd look into (in that case) is getting a spare battery pack asap & store it safely

I just looked for the 1st time in a couple weeks and I am amazed since I sold @45 and thought it would be back in the 30's, it is spiking to $53. Tesla has rewarded all those involved. It is the future but somewhat distant future.

A LOT more articles are wrong. The writers didn't do their homework. So what's new about that?

$529M is the amount of the loan initially approved but not remitted. Here's the quote from Bloomberg Business News:

"Fisker said it had drawn down $193 million from its low- interest loans when access to the remaining portion was blocked."

If you build it, they will come

$562 million in revenue, $15 million in profit, 21,000 expected to be delivered this year. It is the future of everyday transportation and we are all better off for it. Go Tesla, and it would be poetic justice if those that were most vocal against them in the press and internet are short the shares now.

I do love Tesla, but its my understanding that something like 12% of their revenue came from selling "alternate energy"(or something like that) credits to other manufacturers who do not make green cars.

Kudos to Tesla for taking what the government gives them (whether or not the Government should is a topic of another discussion ) - they've done better than a sceptic like me thought they would at this point. But with the number of hybrid and electric optioned cars coming online I would expect this portion of their revenue stream to diminish.

ouch -- Counterparties: Tesla stock goes vroom! | Felix Salmon

that may impact some exotic car sales figures for a while.

Tesla will do just fine if they introduce the SUV next year and the econobox in '15. And if the aluminum air batteries pan out it will transform the whole economy in a major way. They should do a 2nd offering right now.

I like the Fisker's styling very much. But I was wishing for a different snout/mouth/grill. Then I saw the Destino. Unfortunately IMO the Karma got it right. It is a total statement of design. See how the square shapes forward ^^^ don't mesh well with the curves behind.

I am watching with interest. I want Fisker to live. But I also hoped Penske would save Saturn.

That was too bad and I think Fisker is going to be too bad too.

The Fiskers for sale are now being discounted about $20K I think. Far from the days of premiums for the hottest new thing. No confidence.

FWIW, a wholesaler told me that new Fiskers were recently being auctioned off near me for around 60k.

I'm not clear why you would buy a Fisker AT ALL at this point....what possible level of support will you have 12 months from now? If they are TU soon, who will be taking care of your warranty issues, let alone post -warranty?

    Ack......
