Well up until now after reading several reposts (and making one myself) about the F40 convertible, I have only seen crap quality small blurry dim-lit pictures of it.
Finally I have found a clear high-res picture and have Imageshacked it for your viewing pleasure:

Thanks for the pic, still not sure about that car however. Anyone else think it really resembles a Radical or some crazy lightweight trackcar with the top off?

great pic.... i just wish some one would make a stock F40 into a convertable.
not some crazy modified thing that barely resembles an F40
    but oh well.

I think it would look a lot better if they would just put some decals where the headlights go.

Anyway, if large pics of this are your thing, I have a few others I can send your way including one that is 2592x1944.

    Easy easy people .

The car isnt that fake. It has a real F40 engine tuned to LM spec and was built by Beurlys, a famous Ferrari driver ( Le Mans etc.. ).

As for the body , i dont know where it came from. I have seen in twice and once on the track , and its no slouch ...

I guess you be the blind, it looks a hell of a lot like an F40. look for the yellow F40 thread there is a photo in there of a yellow F40 at almost the same angle as the chop top one and to me they look strikingly alike.

The chop top car looks to be using an LM style bonnet “note I said LM style and not the LM bonnet”
The chop top car has an LM style wing
The chop top car has ONE extra intake vent on the side infront of the rear wheel well
The chop top car is mines the roof and has the boot molded up behind the seats much like the F50 does

Other then those 4 things I see a strong resemblance

F40 was never designed to be a convertible and thank god they didnt make one! ....F40 is perfect how it is....a raw racer.

If it works for a 333sp...It works on an f40.

Now if someone would find the part they cut off and put it on a 333...I think we would have a Warrior!

    PLEASE PHOTOSHOP SOMEONE!

When I first saw the Blaton car at Spa it still had a roof. It's a very, very serious racecar with F1 style suspension etc. Don't underestimate the connections between Blaton and Ferrari/Michelotto. It even might have been a testmule for the F50?? Just guessing there.

Why they took the roof off I'm not sure and it does look kind of strange but it's still a serious racecar (for club events only ofcourse).

The picture shown in the first post has some differences compared with the Blaton car. Are we sure it's the same car?

    Ciao, Peter

I'ts one and the same man. He raced under a pseudo (but I keep forgetting which is his real name. I think Blaton).

    Ciao, Peter

p.s. some pictures of Blaton's car with the special suspension visible.

part of the beurlys collcection was for sale about a year back
this F40 (well, F40 engine with everything else custom made) didn't reach minimum price.

btw: is this 'blaton' from the blaton family, that owns a building company in brussels....?

    edit:
behind it, is that one of those alboreto ferrari race cars?

I don't think it is the same car, but it uses some similar features like the color, or the rear LM wing style...that's the reason why I was asking where is this picture coming from ?

I'm fairly certain this is one-of-a-kind. It's probably just had a respray. It appears the cowling has been changed and a second seat was added.
