When I pushed buttons on my radio it moved around slightly but very noticeably in the slot. I pulled the console and the radio pocket, turns out the slot the radio cage fits into is larger than than cage itself. There are little tabs that secure the cage in place but they do not do anything to resolve the slightly oversize hole. I assume I am not alone in this as the single din radios are standard size and presumably the 348 din hole is the same on all 348's, probably 355's too.

So I shimmed it and bolted the cage in place such that the radio still rests on the rubber pad but when the radio is in but the cage is now fixed solidly, so no more radio slop in the housing. It is rock solid. using the back of the cage it does not interfere with the radio fit into the cage which would happen if you tried mounting on the sides. The radio slides right over the tapered machine screw heads using the rear mount option.

That looks awesome Eric. Thanks for sharing. That has long annoyed me too, although I've had my radio removed for the past year. When I re-install, I'll try your fix. Thank you for posting.
