    Hi,

Can somebody tell me what's the story with rental cars being offered to people over 25 only? Is that true for California?

I'm flying into Los Angeles and was looking to rent maybe a convertible (not exotic, since budget doesn't permit ;-) from one of the major car rental places...I'm 24, turning 25 in a month but just before I need the car...

    What can I do?

    THANKS!!!

Call ahead and find out. Enterprise didn't have any problems renting me a car when I was 19 but Avis was a real pain in the a$$ when they refused to rent me the car I had reserved because I was 24.

depends on the company and the car. enterprise will rent to people under 25 but not their higher end cars.

Alternatively, how would it be if a friend of mine who will be traveling with me will rent the car and have me as a 2nd driver? Is that possible? She's 25 already....but there will be NO question of her driving, only if she'd rented it in her name and I'd be an additional driver...

Otherwise, I'd rather have a cheap economy car and drive it than her driving!! ;-)
