I lost my phone the other day... And with it, 400+ phone numbers... I've got another phone now, but I'll never get all of those numbers back... If you have my number, perhaps you can text me so that I'll have your number again... Thanks.

That really sucks. If I may suggest something though. Buy a Backup-Pal. Its about $50 and is super easy to store up to 1000 contacts. Its really useful. If you need more info just check http://www.backup-pal.com/

LOL, you don't want that international charge on your bill, do you...?

LOL, you always get me at a bad time. Yes, please have her call me right away - I lost her number, too...!

Yeah, Sprint's got some special setup where I can do it directly from the phone, without hooking it up to anything.

Hell no. I do not need a $600 cell phone.

I assume that you called your cell phone number to see if anybody answered it? Or is there MORE to the story that you are telling? I found a cell phone in a trash can one time. The phone was stilled turned on. I toggled through the menus and found the owner's home phone and called him to say "Hey dude, I found your phone. Want it back?" He said yes and he would call me back and come get the phone. Never heard another word from him. Probably something fishy going on.

Yes, because everything that happens in my life is dubious and full of suspicion. I called my phone dozens of times - maybe five or six dozen times, literally. At one point, whoever had the phone called me back. I looked at the phone with deer-in-the-headlights incredulity as I see my own name on the caller ID. I pick it up and say hello, over and over and over, my voice volume increasing to a seemingly unreachable crescendo. I was, at one point, screaming: "HELLO...?!? HELLO...?!? HELLO...!!!"

I heard many voices - as if the person who had my phone was in a public place (like the diner to which I went not too long before I realized my phone was gone). At one point, I heard one voice over all the others and it said, "...there's nobody there..."

I hung up and called back - even texted - relentless in the hopes that whoever had my phone would yield and return it. But despite my diligence, my efforts were to no avail. My sleek, black, beautifully interfaced, information-packed cell phone was gone, never to find its home again. I waited until the next day before I went to Sprint to get a new phone.

Please let me know if I've left out any details you require.

As for obtaining the lost numbers through monthly invoices, such a possibility only extends information as far as you've used it. Many of the numbers in my phone were not called on a regular basis. I'd say, on average, I call three or four different numbers per day.

All of my dial-a-porn is dedicated to a land line.

The same thing just happened to me. As far as I know, it's still somewhere in the Chicago O'Hare airport. Still rebuilding my contact list.

I get those kind of calls too. This happens to me all the time with my wife's phone. She wears one of those small bluetooth ear/mic pieces with her Razr phone in her purse. She also has that voice activation feature turned on. I'm not sure exactly what causes it, I think she takes her bluetooth earpiece off and puts it in her purse, but leaves it powered on. So, if she mentions my name in casual conversation, her phone calls me! She doesn't know it calls me. I'll get 20 calls in an afternoon because of this. Each time, all I hear is background conversation (like restaurant noise or mall shopping noise) and her in the middle of a muffled conversation with one of her friends or one of the children. This seems to happen about once a month. LOL, it would be more entertaining if she was in the middle of a really private conversation, but it never is.

I'd keep calling your old phone, there is a chance one day someone will pick up and answer it.

Here is another cell phone story. I lost a cell phone about 10 years ago - one of those old Motorola flip-open phones. One night I notice my belt clip did not have my phone in it. I searched everywhere, no phone to be found. I had it on vibrate, so no ring when I tried to call it to find it. I called that phone everyday for a few times thinking I had left it at a restaurant or something. Turns out our dog had it in the backyard. One day, about two weeks after I lost it, I was calling the cell phone from our kitchen phone, and I see our big Malamute dog run across the backyard and start chewing on something small & black (he could hear the vibration ringing of the cell phone from across the yard). The phone must have fallen off of me as I got out the car in the driveway. Naturally when the family dog finds it later sitting in the driveway, he takes it to the backyard as one of his "treasures". LOL, the phone had a few chew marks on it but otherwise still worked.

LOL, that's funny stuff... I can't continue calling the phone because I had to shut it off to activate the new one. I'm awaiting my next bill so I can go through the numbers on it. I'm calling every one (if any) that I don't recognize. Hopefully, in that way, I can track down the scum bag who didn't attempt to return my phone.
