    Bill, what a aweful shame. I am just sick for you and all the others that have been effected by these fires.

    Although the cars are (were) magnificent, the important thing is obvious... You are here to write about it!

    On the bright side, You can now have an 08 GT3rs and maybe a 430? Or, if you want a replacement for the CS, I know Mike Sage is looking to sell his. It has very low miles and is stunning.

    The very best to you and your family.

    Here is Mikes car.

    Thanks so much! Can you direct me to Mike Sage? I'm looking for an excellent CS in California, red with stripe.

    Bill,
    I cannot imagine what you are going through. The relief that family and friends are safe. But the feeling that is slowly sinking in that everything you knew about home is lost. That is very tough. My heartfelt prayers are with you and your family. Your pictures have inspired me to make sure I have a plan should the same happen to me. I am making a dvd of my house and it's belongings so that in the event of a total loss I can prove content valuation. That dvd will stay in a safe in my office. All of us should do the same. I hope that your insurance is stepping to the plate for you.
    Good luck rebuilding your home. Keep posting so we can follow your progress.

    Bill,

    I mirror everyone's comments here. It's only material possessions, everyone got out safe, and you are ok. I was trying to find a silver lining.....the only thing I can think of is that you get the joy and excitement of shopping for a new Ferrari.....

    I hope the worst is over and you are able to be back in a home again quickly. All the best to you and your family.

    Glad to know that you, your family, and your neighbors are all ok.

    I think it was a 08 RS.

    Bill, very very sorry to see this, although as others have stated, what a blessing everyone is physically fine.
    I had a house fire this spring in a house that my older son and I owned. It was mostly his possesions lost but a home we both loved. Its a very difficult journey as it takes so long to register all the losses.

    Please feel free to pm if you want any advice on dealing with insurance companies. Maybe in a larger tragedy like these fires they will be on their best behaviour but my experience tells me otherwise!
    I wish you and your family a swift emotional recovery, John

    Bill,

    So very sorry for your loss. I am glad you and your family are not injured. This type of loss takes time to get through, but you will get through it.

    Hang in there.

    Regards,

    Wow, that makes me sick. The home, the vehicles, but those will be replaced, you are all OK, that's the main thing.

    I'm so sorry you weren't able to salvage anything that would have the slightest sentimental value. On the bright side, the best thing that could be saved were you and your family's lives. That's most important.

    Best wishes.

    That's the spirit. As kipling said:

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
    But make allowance for their doubting too,
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

    If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
    If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much,
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

    --Rudyard Kipling

    Don't worry. It's going to be soon just a memory.

    This really brings the reality home, I have seen the fires on the news. But I do not know anyone that has been directly involved.
    We are sorry for your loss,
    We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

    Yikes, thats just terrible. But at least you're all okay. Would be hard to comprehend what you're going through.
    Your cars can be replaced. Just keep positive.
