You know the valve stem caps with the logo on them? The anti theft ones. Well I lost my little key that spins them off. Anyone know a way to remove w/o the tool?

Not the valve stems themselves, just the antitheft caps.

Funniest part was, these are on some wheels I had in the garage. I saw the tool a couple of days ago and looked at it for awhile trying to figure out what it was............
    I used to be smarter;)

Ahh, Grasshopper, antitheft caps not so antitheft!

Yes, the outer cap may spin freely, but the inner cap won't.

Study the mechanism, no special tool required.

    You'll figure it out.

If they are like the ones I used to have, the little tool had a threaded end that screwed in and locked the inner part of the cap so it could be screwed off by grasping the outer part of the cap. The threads on mine were 4-40 (#4, 40 threads per inch). Get a machine screw of this size at the hardware and I think you'll get them off.

Mine finally all stripped the threads and I had to destroy them in order to remove by grasping tight enough to crush the outer cap against the inner one. I threw them away and now risk the occasional theft of the non-locking ones with the horse on the head. Not expensive.
