Hello fans of the 599 GTO, I just learned from the list of participants that the stunning amount of SEVENTEEN 599 GTOs will participate in the Tribute to the Mille Miglia in Italy next week! Very likely that should make it the largest number of 599 GTOs ever to attend one event and will problably not be surpassed soon, if ever. I'll make sure to post a lot of pics in this thread when I'm back from Italy Ciao, Lars T.
Damned ... I wished I could have been there!!!!! Bad agenda planning from my end. 17 GTO's ... Italy will be a giant concert hall Looking forward to seeing the pics from Lars. To all GTO participants ... make us proud and have lots of fun.
Hi all, I just returned today from my trip to Maranello & the Mille Miglia - it was fantastic!!! Now I have over 3,000 pictures to go through, so that´ll be some (pleasant) work I´ll post the first pics tomorrow, ok? Ciao, Lars T.
3k pics, wow! You´ve been busy working, well I´m guessing that I´m not the only one looking forward to see some of them.
I was too in Maranello, where were you to take pictures? I will post the complete video about the event tomorrow. I was disappointed because there were only new Ferraris, it's supposed to be an event with many classic Ferrari since it's a tribute (as the name sais) of the Mille Miglia. In 2010 there were much more classics.
There were a lot of old cars but even by the time we had reached Rome a lot of them had broken down The best place to have seen it was on the streets of Bologna - we were all driving at crazy speeds through red lights trying to dodge all the normal road cars
In the early morning I drove from Maranello to Buonconvento where all the cars would have the lunch break. After all the Tribute and MM cars were gone, I quickly returned over the highway to Maranello and arrived about 20 minutes before the first Tribute cars arrived, so I could see them all one more time. I then stayed at the roundabout at the entrance of the Ferrari factory, where all the cars arrived until 9 pm. Ciao, Lars T.
Sounds like great fun! Actually I once drove for some days with a rental car through Palermo and what you describe seems to be the normal way of driving of all the locals there Btw, I have several pics of your GTO in the Tribute, so I´d be happy to send them to you by email if you like - maybe you could let me know your email-address for that? Ciao, Lars T.
Oh, too bad. You know guys that in the tuscan countryside a 599 GTO of the Tribute crashed against a bike? A friend of mine has some pics. Now i remember, you are Doug, we talked shortly about my video when i followed a white GTO around Maranello, you sent me also a few pics of your GTO. It looks awesome!
Here are some of my 599 GTO pics taken in Buonconvento, the lunch break in Tuscany: Ciao, Lars T. Unfortunately the pics have lost some of their sharpness after resizing, so sorry for that Ciao, Lars T.
Great pictures! Looks like an amazing event. The sound of a few GTO;s driving together must have been amazing!
