The FIA will for the first time set up two areas where DRS can be used. Experts predict a lot of passing.

I'm guessing one will be at the end of the back straight just before the "Corner of the Champions". Where will the other one be? Before the hairpin? Would be cool for the spectators but that stretch seems too short.

    Anyway, looking forward to it.

Can't wait. Last year's grand prix was the race that set the tire precedent for this season. Both qualifying and the race were thrillers. Dual DRS zones will make it even better.

And who could ever forget this from 2008:

That was when Massa had fire in his belly. Sadly, it's been extinguished. I think because of his accident.

I'm guessing before turn 8 and turn 12, but the hairpin would be better for the spectators.

Not really, look at the left wheels in the in-car view. Plus that's probably where the most grip was since the track surface was coming up that year.

I'am going off this...(sorry poor quality) only to add Mosley/Ron D WDC down to wire, rest assured had it been Hamilton...the hammer would have come down on him.

LMAO, difference is Massa didn't sideswipe both cars...I think you're a little bitter after LH's joke of a race yesterday. Also, only 2 wheels are "off the track" and they're on the low curbing.

No not bitter at all loved the race, just find it funny all the haters having a feeding frenzy..some even making a effort to crawl out of the woodwork for a feast..;)

Your not included I know where you stand.

Actually on the Massa photo I'am not 100% sure, but I do remember it being debated, to me it looks like all 4 wheels are on the rumble strip.

Yeah it's kinda hard to tell, I wish the photo wasn't so grainy. But I think the right rear might be the only one off of the rumble strip.

When I look at the in-car I can see the white-painted track surface "boundary line" inside of the left tire, so it looks like the tire is (barely) on the track surface still.

For this year's race, are we still expecting the Bulls to dominate, or can we hope for a step up from the other teams? I'm starting to lose hope.

Rumble strip is the track ...

Drivers make themselves known to the stewards, they don't pick on particular drivers.

    When somebody protests to Charlie......(?)

He seemed to say he thought they would be outlawed *if* someone protested - HRT (Kolles) is on record as saying he was gonna protest in Monaco, then backed off - Who knows what happened "behind the scenes"........

    Cheers,
    Ian

There will be a common denominator for all teams, and that of course is tire wear. Everyone will be subjected to it and this will either be great for passing or do nothing for it as everyone's tires will essentially be affected the same. Expect the teams with high top speeds on their cars to do better than usual. Mclar, Ren, MB. RB will do will but they aren't my pick for winning.

The off-throttle ban will probably go into effect post the June 16th F1 technical meeting. Who know, they may kill it for Canada but I'm not believing what anyone is saying at the moment as HRT said they were going to contest it a couple different occasions and ultimately did nothing......

Possibly - However, from what Charlie has said, I don't think anything will happen unless someone protests it - And that "threat" seems to have died down some.

Behind the scenes? Weren't HRT miraculously allowed to participate in the race despite their bad qualifying times?

    That's a possibility.......;)

However, as the rules currently stand, they both got under 107% (of the Q1 best) in P3.

    107% was 1:20.471

    VL did a 20.115 & NK a 20.278 in P3

One could make an argument that it should be 107% of the eventual pole time - They were outside that. However, if "you" only get to run in Q1 (which admittedly they didn't!) that does seem a little harsh as the track invariably picks up speed later in Q.

    Cheers,
    Ian

What a great move by Massa, thanks for the video.
P.S. if it was Lewis both those cars were out of the race.
