I am sure this has been played out on this forum before but thought it would be interesting to see peoples choices. What if you won the powerball or mega millions and had $1.5 million US to spend on cars. The point being trying to stay under that $1.5mm and assuming service, insurance and overall upkeep were not a concern. I will go first. 16m - $350k 599 - $320k California - $220 Bentley cgt - $140k Range Rover - $70k Merc S600 - $150k H1 Hummer Alpha- $90k F355 - $70K F430 - $160K SUPER LEGGERA - $140K
Personally, I wouldn't spend that much (at first). Cars would all be bought used assuming they were all well documented. Aston Martin v12 Vanquish - $125K Porsche Carrera GT - $350K Ferrari 612 - $200K Range Rover - $70K Bentley Brooklands - $325K That's enough to get me started If I did win the lottery, I'd put atleast 25-50% into a high interest savings account the first few years so I could REALLY start having some fun after that.
2006 Ford GT Heritage - $170k 1970 Lamborghini Miura - $300k??? 2010 Spyker C8 Aileron roadster - $230k 1967 Corvette 427/435hp roadster - $125k 1969 Camaro Z28 - $50k 2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale - $150k? 2009 Dodge Viper ACR - $100k 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible - $50k 1987 Buick GNX - $70k 1969 Boss 429 Mustang - $120k? 2008 Mercedes CLK Black - $80k Think I'm right around $1.5m. Didn't realize you can get so much for that amount! RMX
might be fun to buy a prius,... and put a viper motor in it... then take it to hennesey and have him do some magic. License plate: 2 MPG
F40, 275 GTB/4, 599...that would probably be close to the limit. Whatever is left can go towards service...
OK, maybe "high interest" is a bit misleading Just did a search and wow; had no idea interest rates had fallen that low.
I already have the road cars I want, but if I won the lottery there are 2 things I'd have built for me: 1. 7/10ths scale Aprilia 250 racer (I'm too short for the stock one!) 2. Custom open-wheeler styled along the lines of a 60's F1 car, powered by a FIAT 850 Abarth engine! (True pocket rocket!)
275GTB/4 with a bit left over-- probably enough for a matching 275GTS. Or maybe a 365 California. Ideally, a 275GTB/4 and a 365 California, but I don't know if that would fit in the budget.
Ferrari 288 GTO $ 500k Ferrari F355 GTS $ 80k Ferrari 512 BBi $150k Lamborghini Diablo Roadster $ 175k Dodge Viper GTS-R $ 110k Dodge Viper SRT-10 $ 80k BMW Z8 $ 105k Porsche 997 TT Cab $ 150k Aston Martin Vantage Vert $ 140k
used F1 cars are remarkably cheap. few hundred thousand for lightly used *ferraris*. i'm sure you can get "off brands" for even cheaper.
thought i wanted one of those for awhile, but i decided it was too big to be a roadster. what is the attraction?
I think its the best looking car of the past 20 years. My business manager had one and I drooled over its curves every time I saw it.
