seeing this race car kind of pisses me off.... for F's sake.... you have a PILE of orders! STOP f'ing around and build the damn cars. Not the electric SUV. Focus on Emira!
What’s the latest from those with orders in? I thought there was a limited window for the 6 cyl cars until you could only order a 4 cylinder? What is the latest on their plans to offer the 6? Robb
Most recently, I received notice that first round of deliveries will be in October…hoping to get mine before end of year. I did order the V6 SC manual.
Cancelled my order. When I asked the dealer if they were confident in the October delivery, they gave a resounding NO.
I'm flying back from Scotland. saw 2 Emiras... one in a driveway (dark green) launch blue on the motorway.... they are out there.... just NOT in the US!
Just got email from my dealer that they are now taking deposits for the 4 cyl version. Makes perfect lotus sense to start in w 2nd version before anyone even gets 1st one
Lotus Emira - New Old Thing - Test Drive | Everyday Driver - YouTube they love it. one guy is a long time elise owner too. interesting he would choose the touring suspension setup. and he fits well as a tall guy interesting take that emira takes good old school tech like manual trans, rwd, mechanical diff, non adjustable susp, supercharger, etc then refines it all to modern standards. best of all worlds (i guess)
Did receive an email from my dealer saying production of my Emira will be Sept.2023. Fingers crossed.
The 4-cyl AMG engine is rumoured to be only 40hp down compared to the V6 Toyota, but the car is lighter.
That's quite a Hobbesian choice. A well pedigreed engine from AMG, but it's a 4 popper, or one sourced from a commodity manufacturer but it has 2 more cylinders.
I’m just not a fan of the power delivery in a 4 turbo vs 6. too buzzy and never felt solid to me in Mercedes e class I tried
This is an interesting review: https://www.thedrive.com/car-reviews/2023-lotus-emira-review-playtime-is-over Both positive and kind of.
Read that. Seems very similar to an Evora, and from my experience the evora steering was really not that great, as the article kinda says about the emira. On the positives its a raw viceral type car, which is nonexistent these days, but that viceral needent imo come at the expense of being fully sorted, esp lotus has had a decade to sort those types of foibles in the evora. I guess its like a junior lamborghni. The experience is maybe worth the downsides. Still what f-up the launch has been, that part is classic lotus. might as well get en while you can, seems like lotus is now bloaty electric suv company, basicaly zero resemblance or DNA to lotus as we know or knew it, really just a rebadged polestar. Its like were back to the bad old days of when Gm owned lotus, and they developed a fwd izuzu but still made an esprit. Imo I get the selling more volume and doing electric, but a brand has to have core which gives cred, witness the Gt3 and 4rs. Lotus would be wise to still make a small light ice powered car in hetel for those who would buy it. The eu has nor accepted that ice if powered by e-fules can still be sold after 2035, so there is no reason to abandon ice, esp if your core is sports cars. Meantime looks like the ausies have the answer at least for track. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-video/spartan-video-review-460bhp-track-toy-driven
