    I was 8 when 'The Spy Who Loved Me' came out in the 1977 and loved that white LOTUS Esprit James Bond was driving all around Europe.

    Here comes the new and improved for 2013.

    Lotus Esprit – Due to be released in 2013, the Esprit will be powered by a 5.0 litre Lexus V8 forced induction engine delivering up to 620PS, capable of 0-100 km/h in approximately 3.4 seconds.

    But seriously, does anyone else thinks it looks like LOTUS put together a car from the parts scrap of the ACURA NSX and Lamborghini Aventador?

    Can we wedge the new motor into the old chassis? Love the look of that S2 (?)


    If you haven't give Top Gear's look at the Bond cars a watch. It has a great story about that Esprit.

    Looks close to the Esprit they showed a couple of years ago (before the Aventador and I think NSX were shown).

    I think the Esprit looked better when they stopped making them. But I may be biased as I own one

    It is the new Esprit they showed at Paris in 2010. It is now planned to have a Lotus built engine rather than the Lexus engine though.

    Currently though noone outside Lotus knows what is happening and when/if it will actually appear :(
